I'm not impressed. I bought it for speed, not for portability. Yes it's really small. But I don't find the usability any different than a corded external hard drive. I fact I think I prefer the corded versions for my home computer since they run cooler. But if you want a small portable drive, it'd be good for that I guess.

The maximum transfer speed that can be achieved by the T7 is 1,050 MB/s on a PC that supports USB 3.1 Gen2 and UASP Mode, but the speed may vary depending on your PC environment and the types of data being transferred.
As there are various factors that could affect speed, I would encourage you to call Samsung Customer Support if you need further assistance to troubleshoot your issue.

XCode will cache 100's of gigs of iPad data. So I moved all dev assets & dev system folders using syslinks to use this drive instead. Works very well for the task. No reason to trash your internal soldered drive because of poorly written IDE's.

I use them as backup drives for my Windows and macOS systems. I also own a SanDisk 2TB Extreme Portable. The SanDisk is a nice drive with similar performance characteristics, but I prefer the smaller size of the T7 for storage purposes and I don't need the rubberized ruggedness of the SanDisk.
