Solid on the road as a backup for anything that connects to USB C, l cannot look back, and also use on on Blackmagic 6k Pro for recording. That requires a better cable to manage power issues but solid drive all round.

Great USB SSD for Doing Time Machine Backups

It is compact, fast, and has rubber classing to protect it. I don't notice any overheating. It comes with both USB C to USB C and USB 3.0 to USB C cables. It has to be first formatted so it can do Time Machine backups.

I needed a place to store large video files that were consuming valuable hard drive space and preventing me from editing or transferring new files onto my laptop. This will store almost 2 years of files, and I am very satisfied with how easy it was to format and set up. One word of caution, I initially formatted the drive in FAT and it was incapable of transferring files larger than 4GB, so if you are dealing with files that large, or larger, don't forget to format into XFAT from the beginning and save yourself the hassle of having to pull everything off the drive and reformat it. All in all it was a great drive and if I ever need another external, I will be picking us another T7 Shield.

They perform well and have a form factor I like. I have no problem remembering how exciting it was to upgrade an Osborne 1 from single sided, single density 5.25" floppy disks to double sided, double density. Being able to carry multiple terabytes of memory around in your pocket or bag is still totally amazing.

Perfect External SSD for All Data Needs

Great in durability and and perfect storage size too for not only data (2 Terabytes worth), but also for travel storage too!

It's fast and reliable, and I'd recommend this to anyone looking for that combination in a portable SSD. I regularly see transfers of large files hitting the higher end of the rated transfer speed - around 700-800 MB/S. Typical Samsung quality.

Samsung - T7 Shield 2TB External USB 3.2 Gen 2 SSD

This one is a 2 TB. This first cost approx. $120. The 2 TB was on sale. It was $199.99 on sale for $139.99. Right now, Best Buy has it for $129.99. Even better. Lots of "bang for the buck." The read/write specs were/are the same; however, this latest version is tougher. The all new rugged PSSD T7 Shield is built to endure with the space to create thanks to an IP65 rating for Dust and Water resistance. The high-tech rubber exterior with Dynamic Thermal Guard controls heat to maintain steady performance. Has both a USB C and a USB C to USB A cable. Samsung is a recognized leader in SSD products…and you see the quality in this product. I bought the lesser version…and recently bought the superior one…AGAIN. Enough said. Buy this and you won’t be disappointed.
