    Samsung T7 Shield 1TB

Small but mighty. 1 TB - perfect for safe photo storage. Appears rugged and has been easy to use. SSD, not HD - fast, sturdy. Check prices carefully on external drives - lots of variation between models and stores. I think "T7" is a branding name, not specifically and only for this device. It's amusing to think that this tiny drive holds more computer data than existed in the universe - or at least on earth - for perhaps the first 10-20-30 years that computers existed.

Great small form and durable SSD. Small enough to fit in your pocket and fast enough to use for video editing with a large capacity. I purchased the 4tb about a month ago and have been very happy with it so far. I would definitely recommend it. I use it between Windows and a Mac OS so I did not format it but, it seems to work perfectly. I found it on sale and the only thing I would say is that it is a little pricey for the larger size drives at full price. This is the only negative I have found so far. I will be interested to see the longevity of the drive.

This hard drive does what you want it to do. It's compact, durable, and fast. I use it on the road recording and photographing bands. It stays in my backpack and takes a bit of a beating and I've never had an issue with it at all. I recommend this hard drive for anyone taking photos or videos while on the road traveling.

This is my 2nd of these drives & I couldn't be happier with them. They are LIGHTNING fast when it comes to transferring large amounts of data from an Android device & vice-versa. They're perfect for those who take a lot of pictures or who use their mobile device like a laptop PC & need an external-type drive that's a more stable & reliable alternative to the cloud. The only downside to the device is the cataloging in that, if you do use this for pictures and you've spent time "tagging" your photos for easy searching, the tags DO transfer to the drive in the metadata, but ate not searchable in thus manner (as far as I can tell) as that's only a feature available in Samsung's Gallery. Another downside might be that you need to open each file individually, rather than being able to scroll through them like you'd be able to in a "Gallery" setting. ... I'm sure there are ways around this/apps to fix this, I just haven't found them yet. ... But- For the purpose of versatile, stable, reliable, FAST, large capacity & EXTREMELY portable data storage, this is TOTALLY the way to go for any of your storage needs!

This is a wonderful portable SSD hard drive does what it’s supposed to do very fast connection to my laptop. I have not dropped it yet, but I’m confident it can withstand a fair amount of drops. You definitely get what you pay for with this product.

I purchased this to replace an older style portable HD and provide me more assurance my information would be safe and not get stranded when the old drive (not an SSD) decided to stop functioning. I couldn't be happier with the durability, speed, and compact nature of this device. Samsung memory devices have always performed well for me and I will always use them when possible.

This is an excellent addition to my M1 Mac Mini. The capacity of the drive, the small size and rugged shell are ideal as needed to clean up my desk and make my setup semi portable. This drive replaces a group of spinning HDDs resulting in a much smaller footprint, fewer power plugs and usb cables. Awesome upgrade.

Why pay Apple's outrageous prices for more storage? This drive is large enough and speedy enough to house my Mac home folder! That's right, I simply change one setting on my Mac to start saving all my documents, downloads, etc. to this external drive automatically. I keep my applications on the internal SSD to not compromise speed. Think of the way people moved their photo or iTunes Library to an external drive... same concept. There are plenty of online videos to walk you through the process. The setting is found in System Settings > Users and Groups > Right-Click a User > Advance Options > Home Directory

These hard drives have not given me much trouble at all. Very reliable, very fast, and very low profile. I use them with a lot of my video editing projects and currently own like 5 of these. I highly recommend. Also, the rugged design is great!

Definitely happy with this product. As a graduate student, I needed something that was easy to carry (like a USB) but also tough enough not to break (like USBs tend to do). This is perfect. It's tough, durable, and water resistant. It also has great capacity and fantastic speeds.

I bought this device, I didn’t write the review before because I want to be sure it works as says. It is fast, safe, even you can use a password. By the way, days ago it fall off in a shallow water, just dried it and worked properly. It survived to the water and the downfall. I recommend it to everybody. I will buy other, with more capacity.

For those looking for well built, reliable, compact and fast transfer of data (images), I have found these small external hard drives to be everything you could ask for in an external drive. Built tough, and very durable and reliable. I have 4 and will be buying more. Once they get up to larger capacity SSD I will be buying them as well.

I've been using it for a couple of weeks and it was plug-and-play, nor formatting needed and it is fast. On first use, it offered that I could set it up with encryption security. I may eventually enable that, but have not done so and cannot comment on that available feature. I am pleased with it as a storage device.

I love this ssd drive. Not only is it made by Samsung but this thing is rugged. Its got like a rubberized exterior and is easiy to grip. Its small enough to fit in your shirt pocket and its fast when transferring from ssd to ssd. The only drawback is its price. Probably in sn year they will be half the cost and much more afordable.

This is a nice, small and relatively fast SSD that comes with some pre-loaded software depending on your computer type and a couple of USB cabes (C and A). I connected it to a Mac and installed the software that was preloaded on the SSD. However, I was unable to use the software as it could never detect that the SSD was connected to my Mac. I tried unplugging/replugging, rebooting my Mac, deleting and reinstalling the software but all my efforts were in vein. Regardless, I wasn't going to be using that software (I don't even know what it does since I was never able to run it) so that didn't bother me too much. I reformatted the SSD using the Mac's Disk Utility program to APFS and ran a Black Magic Speed Test on it. I don't really have much to compare, so I'm not sure if those results are good or just okay or bad. I'm guessing it's pretty good because my subjective sense of the speed of the SSD when dragging files onto it is that it's plenty fast for my purposes. I don't have any hesitation in recommending this SSD.
