They raise the washer and dryer for easier access. The drawer opens and closes very smoothly and is separated into two compartments.

One needs the washer to be elevated if you ever need to manually drain it with the drain hose since you can place a bucket underneath to collect the water.

The drawer in front easily pulls out and I can keep my large soap detergent in there out ion the way.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Though it isn't super tall, it is great for getting the washer up off the floor so you don't have to bend completely over to take clothes out of the washer. The only negative is really the price. There really is no reason that this pedestal should cost as much as it does. $100 would be a fair price for this pedestal as I'm sure it costs little nothing to make since there isn't that much metal in it. I feel it's a necessity to have with these front load washers and dryers even still to save your back from the bending.

There is no more convenient place to keep detergent, dryer sheets and other supplies. Just wish they weren't so pricey.

It adds the right amount of height so you're not bending over every time you wash/dry your clothes, and it adds a good amount of storage to keep dryer sheets and liquid detergent.
