I end up losing all my pictures and pictures and somehow got stored in a different file on my phone.

DRIVE FAILED. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

After loading the drive with footage from a tv show that we filmed it failed before I could even make a backup of the drive. It was brand new and purchased for this project. I’ve now sent it off to a company in Canada to attempt to repair the drive and recover the footage. The technician said he sees this drive come in all the time. AVOID THIS DRIVE AT ALL COSTS. Get the Extreme (non-PRO) the cheaper one is reliable and doesn’t have the issues this one has. Even the salesman at Best Buy said he’s aware of these drives failing. Get them off the shelves and stop selling them!

Piece of Junk SanDisk SSD

Ive used it less than 5 times and it crashed and my Mac cant do anything with it.

Problems with my 2 SanDisk - Extreme Pro Portable

One of them erased the data and I took it to Best Buy and they gave me a new one because it had not been a week since I had bought it. Since then every one or two days the partition is deleted and I have to format it again and pass all the data from the other sandisk to it. sometimes it is one and sometimes it is another. But if both of them are damaged at the same time, I am left without a database. Now I am in Puerto Rico and it is far away. I have read a lot about this model and 90 percent of them are giving problems. This is unfortunately my review.

Fine When it works

Reformatting for current Macs is necessary. On line reviews aren't good. Received a 3rd one from Western Digital. Works great. Best Buy made have received a bad batch.

Shockingly SLOW and crash prone

I formatted it for my Mac, plugged it in and began to transfer files from the Lacie drive it is replacing. It took forever to move the files. Then, the next day, I could not access the drive. Error after error. I was finally able to wipe the drive and re-reformat it. I did another files transfer from the Lacie (7 year old little skinny drive). All data is there and available, however, copying ONE new file over to the drive (1.7G) took 3 minutes. The math just doesn't add up for this to be a fast drive. It is plugged into the USB 3.1 port of my MacPro. I do not trust this drive. I won't for a long time.

Unfortunate

Random disconnects caused data corruption. I spent way too long troubleshooting, only to find Sandisk has had a rash of issues they can’t seem to fix. Returned the drive and got an internal nvme.

It died on me twice.

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this product because of the high speed transfer rate to use it with my macbook pro to edit videos and it worked for 1 week with no issues. After the first week it gave me a message that the files were corrupt and it cannot be accessed and I lost everything I had on it. Luckily I use it just to edit the videos and I have other mechanical HDD's to store the actual videos. I formatted the HHD and I started from the beginning. Another week in and it died again and I lost the same video that I was working on twice. I am so frustrated right now. I will return the HDD to get my money back.
