But this was an instant fail. ery upset

I have to use hard drives for work and this one randomly crashed wiping out everything on it and is no longer showing up on my computer. Very disappointing.

Best of the Best for 2TB Ultra-Fast Portable SSDS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own both the SanDisk V1 (10 Gbs, 2020) and the V2 (20 Gbs, 2021) versions of the Extreme Pro 2TB and love the performance and reliability. Even better, it doesn't get extremely hot like some other portable SSDs. The case and associated cooling system are extremely well designed. I also own a pair of Crucial x8 1 TB (10 Gbs) portable SSDs but the Crucial units get so hot that you can't even touch them! This cannot be good for the SSD's longevity. Also, when these ultra-fast SSDs hit high temperatures they will throttle down the speed by a tremendous amount which is what I have experienced with my Crucial x8 units. I have never encountered high temperature throttle-down problems with my Sandisk Extreme Pro units even when transferring very large multi-GB files. These SanDisk ultra-fast portable SSDs are the best on the market, IMHO. Just be sure to use the proper cabling and use a USB-C port on your PC for the fastest speed. If you do use an adapter cable for a USB-A port, be careful how the USB-C cable coming from the SSD is plugged into it. Sometimes you need to turn the USB-C cable around 180 degrees before plugging it into the USB-A adapter to get the top speeds.
