Not sure if this hard drive defected, I could get it to boot for my desktop. I re-clone my hard drive three times (message say successful) but it won't boot me window 10 pro. Will continue working on it

The power button for this small laptop is right where one needs to grab -- causing me to accidentally turn it off every time I grab it. It is maddening! I would buy a different laptop, folks.

Overall, as a backup drive, this SSD is working great. But for some reason it will not let me install a fresh clean copy of window 10. Always crashes during installation before finishing.

We used to use these exclusively and installed about 50 of them, but it seems that the speeds have gotten slower and we had a few go bad over time. There are better options for the same price.

But try to stick to Crucial or PNY SSDs. I've had a few problems in the past with these drives. Their cheap plastic housing doesn't help anything either.

it is so expensive, just buy a 2tb hard drive for this price, even though the speed is nice its not worth it.

    Great hard drive

Review is based on comparison of this SSD with my existing (non SSD) hard drive. One of my laptops is about 7 years old. Start, shutdown and opening applications took long time which was frustrating. I was considering getting a new replacement laptop but another one I have which is only one and half years old is also slow to start and shutdown, though less than the older one. I was exploring options and found some comments that recommended changing the old hard drive to SSD instead of buying new computer for cost effective improved performance. My old hard drive was 500 GB but only 120 GB was used. I decided to buy this 240 GB Sandisk SSD since 500 GB SSD was about 85 to 90% more expensive. This way I still had sufficient space for additional data and programs but did not have to spend lot more on hard drive. I was easily able to find manufacturers instruction on physically replacing the hard drive. I also knew how to transfer the programs and data from old hard drive to the new one using some software and was able to do both without much of a problem. Happy to mention that in few cycles of performance verification I did, the time taken for Start, Shutdown, opening of various applications reduced from at least 50% to as much 90%. This Sandisk SSD is SATA III, my old laptop has SATA II interface. While the Sandisk is backward compatible the older interface on laptop prevents full benefit of this SATA III SSD. Even then the performance is much improved. I am no longer thinking of replacing my older laptop. As it is only a week since I installed this SSD will need to wait to find out its durability.
