Best Buy is manipulating their prices again, to get more money out of us. Sad, very sad.

Had it fixed and the day I got home and tried to use it. The scan run and said hardware failing again.

fast boot up yes with window 10 but Product not good/ Customer service of Sandisk no good.

can easily breathe new life into those older machines. since there are no moving parts it will surely extend battery life in laptops. i have one of these installed in parents machine and running win 10 with no issues at all. i also have another on a ubuntu machine with ver, 16.04 LTS. WOW 15 seconds from cold start to internet.. ok to be honest i think it may be faster as the monitor is still in warm up and desktop is there. no modification of ubuntu required. i think it is safe to say the days of spinning rust are over .. next build will have a 480gb SSD..

its fast, it certainly isnt bad at all, i would definitely buy it again not sure about longevity but other users have said good things here and on other sites so thats encouraging however it is MLC with an SLC cache, but not SLC throughout, hence the low price and decent capacity...that shouldnt stop you from buying it though BUT - it doesnt come with a spacer and thats just ridiculous imo...come on sandisk you can do better

I have owned 3 of sandisk ssd's. They have all preformed and preformed and preformed excellently even after 10 installes and reinsalles .These drives keep on amazing me . In fact im typing this from a sandisk ssd drive right now on my current drive. That i have installed and reinstalled due to mac and bootcamp, Ubuntu, LOl, mac about 5 times already. And previously had this same drive driving an gaming pc for quit a while .. I mean these drives are some of the best drives for longevity i have ever used . Get one you will not be sorry!!!!

SSDs are so much better than a hard drive, and they're so cheap now. $54 for a 240GB SSD, that's good enough for 95% of users. I must buy about one per week for my clients, we've been replacing bad hard drives with SSDs for a few years now and the speed improvement is dramatic, the PC is even faster than when it was new.

This SSD worked so well on my Windows 7 refurbished machine I got one for my wife's Win 8.1 machine. So far her boot is way faster than my original Win7 (it'd take over 5 minutes to boot) but it's here to install if we need it. So, yes I'd recommend it because I bought two of them.

This is currently Serving as my (C:) drive housing a stable and fully 2018 Updated (Fall Creator's) Windows 10 on my Core i3 4330, 16 GB GSKILL ARIES Blue RAM, Gigabyte MOBO, Gigabyte 6GB NVIDIA GEFORCE Windforce 1060 totin' PC. It replaced a SATA HDD (re-purposed as storage) and the speed of boot (42-48 seconds, used to take little over a minute) and overall PC performance has improved drastically. My PC has remained Stable and I have had No issues with this SSD. I Run World Of Tanks HD from it, originally as a test to see for myself if I could gain some FPS. I get 115 to 130, used to get 110 to 120 with the fastest speed SATA HDD type so I left it on there. However, something to note that in the time I've had it, it's lifespan has gone down to 98% according to SanDisk SSD Dashboard. Overall, I recommend this or any SSD over even the fastest (7200 RPM) SATA HDDs.

Fast speeds, boot up in 6-8 seconds and don't worry about a spinning hard drive platter crashing and destroying your files ever again. TIP: Use a SSD drive for your OS and a second internal SATA drive for your working files that you will write to often.

Most SSD'S are definitely worthy of using as an upgrade. They do improve performance very much. I would just like to give those new to SSD drives a bit of information. defragmenting of these drives is a definite no no. Due to the many times per session a defrag program writes and rewrites to the disk, defragging an SSD will drastically reduce its overall lifespan. SSD'S like thumb drives have only a certain amount of WRITES before end of life failure. SSD drives do not need defragging at all. This message is for the help of anyone not already familiar with this information. However, go ahead and get that SSD. It will be a long lasting, shock resistant, speed demon. Just follow the above INFO and you will have a good long lasting SSD! Ron

I decided to upgrade the existing hard driver with a solid state. Fast startup times, and application launch times, fast loading on web pages, etc. Its more quieter of course since there is no disk spinning that you hear. My only gripe, is its expensive. I could have upgraded to 500 gb or 1tb, but decided to go with 240 gb, which oddly is 10 gb less than your regular average 250 gb size defaul drive, which was my original hard drive space. Oh well, this laptop I'd did a bit of an enhancement, and works perfect. In the long run, I'd upgrade to a new laptop.

Wow!, The speed difference is very real in my i5 laptop with 8GB ram Programs (FireFox, Word, Ect.) open in less then .5 seconds, Windows boot use to take 45 - 60 seconds or more with 7200 RPM hard disk, now takes 15 seconds flat. Even web pages load quicker!. Very happy with this SSD upgrade, I would recommend this be the first stop for upgrading an older system! You can get more life out of an older system by upgrading to SSD, and at least 8GB ram, it will feel like a whole new computer!

I replaced the slow hard drive on my Toshiba Satellite C55-C5381. My boot time went from 106 seconds down to 21 seconds! I used the Apricorn notebook upgrade kit and it was an extremely painless process. This drive unleashed the potential of this laptop. Everything is lightning fast now. Amazing! Quicker than my $1000 i7 Lenovo! Overall I'm super happy with the upgrade. If it wasn't for the small storage size I'd upgrade my other laptop too. Maybe I'll look into the 480GB for the next upgrade.

My Lenovo Ultrabook was somehow previously equipped with an ST HD spinning at 5400 rpm. Very slow. Maybe it was factory installed or maybe I'd previously swapped it out. Can't recall. But .. it was slow. This SanDisk SSD is a huge improvement. The Lenovo is pretty old technology but this SSD is fast enough to allow me to get maybe another year or two out of it. At ~90 bucks, it's a pretty cost-effective upgrade. IMO

This is the SSD drive for most of customer who doesn't want to spend too much money with other brand. Don't be confused by read and write speed comparison. I bought Samsung for my wife and Sandisk for my laptop. Bottom line, I wish I chose both from Sandisk and save the money. Great speed improvement and satisfaction! Long searching buyers, go for this. You will not retreat.

I bought 2 drives, one for my thinkpad t410 the other for my Satelitte 235TD. I cloned both drives and running Win10. 20 seconds to cold start my thinkpad, I love this drive, I pulled my dvd drive and put it a WD 1TB drive in its place. Wow, I have tons of videos, music, documents and pix. Now my Lenovo Thinkpad T410, i5, 8gb is a monster. Suuuuuper Faaast boot up and operation.

The SSD is very fast and was super easy to install!
