Before this upgrade (from the factory spinning HDD to this SSD) this aging MacBook Pro seemed to take forever to cold boot or open applications. For all practical purposes, it now boots and opens applications in a fashion comparable to our late 2013 MacBook Pro with factory SSD. Like having a new laptop for well less than $100. The physical swap itself could have probably been accomplished in less than 15 minutes. Following procedures from Apple's on-line help and utilizing this machine BEFORE the physical swap, I created an external OSX boot system on a USB drive I had laying around, and also had a current Time Machine backup of the entire HDD to our external backup drive. After installing the new SSD, I booted the machine from the external OSX drive, then Restored the entire Time Machine backup to that SSD. Worked like a charm, just took a while to get all the software stuff done. I've since upgraded the ram from 2 to 8GB to benefit some applications (ram was an easy upgrade in this machine, requiring NO software manipulation), but the ram upgrade did not appear to further improve the boot and load times themselves. Very happy with this SSD.

SanDisk makes rock solid solid state drives - I've been using them in the IT world for years now, and have yet to have one go bad on me (which is more than I can say for Samsung's top of the line EVO Pro models, though they are also great).

nice ssd, fast and cheap. no issue so far. was easy to install, feels like its built well. not much else to it.

Good storage for the price. Gets away from the traditional drive with all the moving parts..

I am very happy using the SanDisk - 240GB Internal SATA Solid State Drive Plus for Laptops. My previous memory drive was inadequate for my work at home. There was a significant operating difference after the SanDisk was installed.

Replace the hard drive in a laptop or desk machine with this SSD, do a clean install of Windows 10, and it will extend the useful life of the computer. Fast booting, fast application loads, no downside. SSD prices have come down dramatically in recent years, making this a cost-effective upgrade. Another idea, when you buy a new desk computer, buy a less expensive machine and install this SSD out of the box. (Difficult on new laptops because they are hard to open up.)

This SSD drive works perfectly as an external drive (in a 2.5" case). It is fast, small, and works perfectly. A great drive at a great price!

The reason for my 4/5 stars is because I haven’t had this long enough to give it a proper long-term evaluation. But so far this has been a great SSD. Very fast and great for what I use it for. Boot up times are super fast!

This SSD any any SSD is recommended to bring life to Laptops. When they come with a slow 5400 rpm drive. Installing this makes it load in less than 5 sec under win 10. WOW Loads in 10 sec vs almost one min with regular HD

Great drive with solid performance. I replaced a failing drive in my HTPC, and used EaseUS to clone the old over to the SSD. Swapped them out and booted perfectly. HTPC has new life and very fast boot times. The machine is pretty old with an Intel Core 2 Quad 2.6GHz processor. The SSD makes a world of difference. Best upgrade out there for the money. I also put one of these in an old HP 18T laptop bought in 2009. Love the laptop but was sluggish, even with 7200rpm drives. Put in the SSD, and it has many more years of use now.

I have an all-in-one PC with a HDD and found it to be painfully slow. Installing this SSD made the PC run so much faster that it felt like a different machine altogether. This SSD was definitely worth the investment.

It is a good product, that is being working for a couple of months. I would assume will work for some years to come. The only problem I had with was that it did not work right away. I tried several ways to make it work, I even emailed Sandisk customer service (which did not help, so I removed one star from my review). It turned out that was my HP laptop BIOS that had to be updated to make the hard disk compatible. Just be aware, if you buy this hard disk for an older computer, updating the BIOS may do the trick. Once this problem solved, it worked well for windows. There is one more thing, I have linux mint installed on the same drive, which works really well, but it does not recognize the ntfs partition of windows, which is kind of strange. I am sure there is a workaround and the linux geeks (I am not one of them) know how to do it. Overall I am pleased with this hard disk, and the price was also quite good.

Popped it into my laptop. Then boom! laptop just went from a slog to a workhorse! Not only that but the computer was 6 years old, but works just as fast as a brand new one. Best upgrade you can make to an old PC.

Drive was easy to install and setup. Great price and would Highly recommend this SSD. Much faster than a hard drive.

This drive is worth every penny. As with any SSD, it will massively improve performance, but this one is great quality and great price. Use them in customer computers all the time without issue.

I replaced the dead original hard drive in my ASUS laptop with this solid state hard drive. Because there are no moving parts it works great and has given new life to my 5 year old machine.

Bought this to use as the boot device in a budget PC I'm building. Computer boots into Windows 10 in around 20 seconds from the moment the power button is pressed, about half of that is due to POST. If you're motherboard has a fast-boot feature, you can probably get speeds closer to 10-15 seconds. I've never had any issues with Sandisk before so I trust that this will prove to be a reliable problem-free SSD.

When my old hard drive died the guys at Geek Squad recommended that I get this Solid State one as a replacement. Boy, were they right. My computer is lightning fast with the new drive.
