Not for sure why. I’m using a iPad Pro 2020 and have a large amount of pictures taken over the years. Time will tell over using product more.

Slow in coping files

The sliding lock is not strong enough to hold in position. When you plug it to the USB slot, you have to hold the lock in position.

Doesn’t work with new ipad

After 2 minutes of use, it got so hot, I could barely touch it. Tried both ends, with the same overheating result. After researching online, it's a common problem. SanDisk should have done a recall on this. Returned for a refund.

Flimsy and stopped working

After a few days of use I had to return it. It starting giving me an error, not allowing me to read/write to the drive. I'm tech savvy, have had similar issues before that I could rectify, but this was not one I could fix unfortunately. It caused me to lose some important data as well.

don’t try it for iPad
