    excellent thumb drive

Excellent thumb drive. The Sandisk ultra 64GB USB 3.0 flash drive has very fast read and write speeds when used with an Acer Chromebook. Right now 64GB seems to be the optimum balance between speed and capacity. That will no doubt change as thumb drives expand beyond the current 256GB max size, but for now these are fantastic drives at a good price point when Best Buy puts them on sale. As far as I can tell there is no difference (other than color) between the Sandisk 64GB USB Type A Flash Drive - Red and the Sandisk Ultra 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive - Black.

I use usb drives all day at work imaging pc's. I have tried various brands, pny, lexar,hp,etc and none can compare to SanDisks reliability and speed. I've burnt 35gig ISOs on different USB3.0 drives and again SanDisk beats the rest hands down. SanDisk took 20 minutes the rest close to 3 hours

    Use instead of CDs

We frequently use these large capacity flashdrives instead of CDs as they are much easier to write to, don't get damaged by dust or scratches, can be reused easily, and are fairly cheap. We send them to clients, always with good results (if they make it through the USPS). We have taken to sending these in a package instead of an envelope because despite several "hand stamp only" stamps on the envelope, the USPS will run these through the machine which causes the flashdrive to tear through the envelope and get lost.

This an excellent 64GB capacity USB Flash drive made by Sandisk. The product quality is consistent with other SanDisk drives that I have purchased in the past. This Sandisk USB drive is easy to use and fits in well into the USB ports on my laptop. The drive recesses well with a simple slide of the thumb and appears to be well designed and sturdy. The price was quite good for a 64GB flash drive.

Moving between computers at work and home I thought I'd pick up an extra flash drive. What I found was that it is not just another flash drive. It is the only flash drive I use! It easily handles all the data I need to carry around, is easy to tuck into my small computer bag and since I bought mine in red it stands out in the crowd.

The SanDisk USB 3 64 Gigabyte Drive is awesome! I use the SanDisk Flash Drives to copy and move data between computers. I also use them for storing data. I have been using SanDisk Flash Drives for years. I have never had a problem with SanDisk Flash Drives and strongly recommend them! :D

Benchmarking this drive right out of the package may be misleading. I'd never bothered with benchmarking until about an year ago when I had some problems with a solid state drive. Since then I have played around with benchmarking various devices. When I bench marked this flash drive the results were terrible, barely better than my average 2.0 drives. At first I thought it might be defective but then I thought to check the 32GB version of this drive which I always thought was quite speedy. I'd purchased it over a year ago. So I benchmarked now and its average speeds were not real great but the interesting thing was that the first third of the drive was reading well over 120MB/sec, well above the advertised rate. The last two thirds were about as bad as my new 64GB drive. That's when I remembered the narrow 120MB/sec read spike at the very beginning of that 64GB drive. The software that comes on the drive? Then I wondered if you only get full speeds to data that's been written. That is, those parts of the drive that have been used, written to or written to and erased. To test this I filled the rest of the 32GB drive and then erased that added data. The average read speed for the entire drive was now 127.4MB/sec. I filled and erased the 64GB drive and it now reads 116.7. Not quite as good as the 32GB drive but I'm happy. I checked some of the poor reviews of this drive and see mentions of poor benchmarks. Maybe this was their problem too. I've had no problems with the 32GB drive and expect none with this one. Good drive. Got it on sale, so great price.
