SUMMARY This premium full motion TV mount is well built, extremely sturdy, and straight forward to setup with thoughtful features and easy to make adjustments. REVIEW Unpacking this TV mount it became very clear to me how straight forward this setup would be. All the mounting screws were labeled clearly and the included paper directions were detailed and helpful. Additionally, the template card also referenced QR codes to videos which were extremely helpful. All-in-all it took me about 20 minutes to mount my TV. NOTE: When installing these TV mounts it’s very important that this bracket goes into studs, do not try and use anchors unless your mounting into concrete. The mounting arm and bracket itself are made of thick gauge metal with some plastic trim. There are nifty plastic caps which pivot on a hinge and are used to hide the mounting screws to the wall. The mount to the TV supports a number of VESA mounting layouts and is adjustable by shifting the vertical bracket which is very helpful in case you ever switch out your TV to something different. The locking mechanism has a handy pull tab for unlocking the mount from the TV (don't forget the set screw!) This mount has easy adjustment for left/right positioning, depth, and angle. I was careful to install the mount so that my TV would be at a good vertical height, but with a drill you are able to adjust the height of the TV 3 inches up or down. There is some plastic channel with a cover so that you can manage at least the power and HDMI cable. The design does have a cutout in the center of the mounting arms which I found to be great for securing velco tape for my additional cables. TIP: Consider the location of your TV’s VESA mounting when selecting the mounting location (mine was towards the bottom of the TV). The height adjustment is located at the center mark so depending on your needs it may be helpful to adjust the location of this ahead of mounting.

First off, Thank you Sanus for creating something like this!! I have a 65” TV that has to be mounted in a very specific space on the wall. Even an inch or so off and it wont fit and will look off center. Before I got this I would measure, put the mount up, put the TV up, realize it was a little off, remove the mount, drill more holes in the wall, and repeat until I got it in the right place. It was a HUGE pain! When I saw this mount I knew I absolutely had to have it! Out of the box you can tell it’s a very solid and well-made product. I had no worries about it easily being able to hold my big 65” TV up on the wall. Installation was a breeze, although the included instruction manual is one of those that basically just has pictures and not really any written instructions. So, some people may have difficulty with that. Thankfully I have installed many TV mounts in my time, so I knew exactly what to do. I found the center of the spot I wanted yo put it, marked the 2 holes, pre-drilled, and then attached the mount to the wall. Literally from the time the box was dropped off, in less than 15 minutes the mount was on my wall. It really was that easy! I then attached the bracket to the back of my TV. This is a universal type mount so you can expand or contract the back to make it fit any mounting pattern you may have. This is also useful for making minute side to side adjustments to make sure the TV is perfectly centered in the place you want it. I hoisted my TV up onto the mount and this is where I ran into the only problem I had during installation. The locking screw that they included to lock the TV onto the mount was about ¼” too short. I tried to screw it in many times, but the threads just wouldn’t catch. Not sure if I just got a bad screw, or if they are all like that. So, I had to paused my installation and run to the hardware store to get a longer screw. If you have the same problem, you need a 5mm screw, just get one that’s about ¼” longer than the supplied one and you’ll be good to go! Once I got that situation figured out, I was able to do a lot of the fine-tuning adjustments. The height adjustment is amazing. You just put your drill in the adjustment screw and start it up and the TV will raise or lower with ease. Its very easy to make very precise adjustments. Then there is another screw you can tighten or loosen that you use to make sure the TV is completely level. Once all the adjustments are made you can easily pull the screen out on the arm and rotate the screen right or left to change the viewing angle. You can even tilt the screen up or down a little bit as well. Then when you are done, you can easily push it back into the exact same place it was on the wall. There is even places you can route cables through the arm as well to clean up the look. Apart from the locking screw problem, I absolutely love this mount and highly recommend it!

      Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to write such a thorough review! We appreciate you bringing the issue with the secondary security screw to our attention. In our prior testing, this had not been encountered. However, given different TV sizes and weights, we recommend the TV be level and straight vertical (not tilted) before fastening the secondary security screw.
Thanks again for the comprehensive review. We are thrilled to hear that your TV mounting experience was efficient and enjoyable. If you have any other questions, please reach out to us at info@sanus.com or call 1-800-359-5520.

    Great, sturdy TV Wall Mount!

So, since we were moving to a new house and leaving all the TV wall mounts, we were needing to find the replacement mounts. The SANUS Elite - Advanced Full-Motion 4D + Shift mount seemed like a good one to use for at least one of our TV. Most of the full-motion mounts we had were the "best ones at the lower price at that time", which was 8 years ago, with another installed in the past year. While those functioned just fine, there were some issues that I had dealt with that would prevent me from buying them again, such as one model not being able to get the locking screw-wheel tight enough to keep the TV from tilting to either side when moved. This SANUS Elite model was able to resolve that, along with adding a few features that helped make the final steps even easier. When the box was opened, the first thing that it says is the installation will be easy. After completing it, I did somewhat agree. When pulling the TV Bracket out and the Arm bracket, I was impressed with the design, being a lot thicker than what I was used to, but then again, this one is at a price-point that is quite a bit higher than those were (which follows the "get what you pay for" adage). Also, I had been used to the smaller VESA TV bracket/plate with arms added as necessary to each corner for the larger TVs (this TV was a newer 55" with the wider VESA pattern). This one uses adjustable vertical brackets that can slide closer to the middle for the smaller VESA patterns. Once the mounting bracket was installed to the back of the TV (after finding the best screws to use, which it does come with a wide assortment of sizes), then temporarily connecting the arm to it, I was able to determine the distance from the bottom of the TV to the bottom screw hole. I had placed a line of painter tape to match where I wanted the bottom of the TV to end up and measured up from there to align the mounting screw hole template height, then used a level to get the top holes lined up on the centerline of the stud. Drilled the holes, then it was ready to mount the arm bracket. Holding the arm bracket up, I got the first lag screw started into the top hole, then proceeded to screw it in with a socket wrench (which was probably the hardest part of the installation of only that it took more time since I couldn’t find my socket base attachment for my cordless drill). When it close, but not all the way in, started on the bottom lag screw. When finalizing the vertical alignment, that gave me the only slight downside to this model, which was that didn't have a little built-in bubble level like some previous mounts I had installed had. At least it wasn't too much harder to hold up my larger level and tighten the screws. A nice touch was that the screw covers on the top and bottom swivel open and closed. When the arm was in place, it was time to connect the TV bracket to it. This is where a couple of the design pieces I like (that I hadn't come across with previous mounts) came into play. First the top catch on the arm and the TV bracket makes it a bit easier to get them together. Then, there is a spring-loaded catch at the bottom of the TV-bracket that help keep the whole thing steady until the locking screw is put into place. There is one thing about the locking screw that at first I didn't care for, which was it didn't have a wide grip to tighten/loosen only by hand. The included Allen wrench is required when installing or removing. But on the flip side, it did allow it to be made tighter to keep the TV in place better. Oh, one thing I recommend is that if you are putting the TV on by yourself (and it is a bigger TV), extend the arm out all the way and stand behind the TV when lifting it so that there is a better view of matching the top catches, especially when installed higher on a wall. After the TV is mounted, the Tilt can be adjusted by loosening three-pronged screw directly on the center of the TV bracket, setting the desired tilt, and then doing a final tightening with the Allen wrench. Also, there are cable management channels along the bottom of each arm section to use, if desired. After experiencing the design and ease of installation of this mount, I am considering getting the next size up to use for our 75" TV that I want to use a full-motion mount this time instead of the low-profile fixed mount used previously. If you want a sturdy, really nicely designed mount, and the price is not too far out of the budget, I would definitely recommend considering this one.

Great TV mount with an ingenious feature

I put up my first big screen TV almost ten years ago and boy how wall mounts have changed. Currently I have a 65” OLED television mounted above my fireplace. Given the price of some of those TVs you need to ensure that you use a sturdy, quality mount. So now I am moving to a new home and am going to leave the current home with my older mount while getting a newer version from Sanus. I decided to get the SANUS Elite - Advanced Full-Motion 4D + Shift TV Wall Mount as it has some improvements over earlier generations. One of the new features which is ingenious is having a vertically adjustable corkscrew cylinder to adjust the height of the TV. With this design you do not need to overthink the height installation of the mount, as you can always adjust it after easily. Even if you later decide to add or change a soundbar (which is almost mandatory these days, with tinny sounding standard speakers in most TVs) you can adjust the height to accommodate a different size soundbar. In my previous TV mount, you can accomplish something similar with vertical adjustment, however that was a sliding plate design which attached the piece mounted to the wall, minor adjustments could be made, however it was difficult to keep the TV mounted when doing so and the range of the adjust was narrow, plus it was more or less permanent. Now to the installation, most people will be able to self-install this mount, although it is necessary to have two people lift the TV in place, even having a third person is handy. So, if you are a little wary of this do-it-yourself project then leave it to the professionals (or at least someone that has learned from installing one in the past). The mount itself adjusts the angle of the TV, so if you have a overhead light reflecting on the screen you can tilt it to avoid the reflection. In addition, you can pull the TV out from the wall by up to twenty-two inches and turn it in a specific direction dynamically if you are viewing the TV from the side, even temporarily for an event or for cleaning. This is also especially important as some display technologies do not always provide the best picture if you are viewing from a side angle (LCD displays can you hear me?) Confidence is key when using a mount that provides motion flexibility and through the range of movement my almost sixty pound TV always felt steady and secure. Overall, this is a quality well-built TV mount recommended for TVs thirty-two to sixty five inches and up to seventy pounds. Pros: - Adjustability, especially the vertical corkscrew type adjustment - Constructed well - Range of motion providing different viewing angles for events or home theater Cons: - May be difficult to install for some, however that is also true for most TV mounts

    Very Versatile Compact TV Mount!

The Sanus Elite- Advanced Full-Motion 4D + shift TV Wall Mount for TVs 32”-65” is my first Sanus mount. I have traditionally avoided them and bought other brands thinking they were a little pricey. However, when I saw this mount and saw that it had vertical adjustment I decided to give them a try. I have to say I am, impressed with this mount. I had my doubts about only using two lag bolts to hold it to the wall since my other mounts have four and use two studs.I was pleasantly surprised. You just have to be sure you get the bolts into the meat of the studs as close to the center as possible. Once you do that you can attach the section that mounts on the back of the TV then hang it and secure it to the wall mount. Once you do that you can do your fine tuning and get a feel for the mount. The Sanus Elite Full-Motion mount feels and looks very well made and the all of the adjustments are much appreciated especially the vertical adjustment. The vertical adjustment allows you to raise or lower the TV using screws and preferably a cordless screwdriver which makes it much easier and quicker. This means if you get your TV mounted in your bedroom for example and then lay in your bed to check it out and decide you think it needs to be a little higher for the perfect downward angle while lying down. With this mount instead of remounting it like I have done before you can easily adjust it up or down which makes this mount completely worth it to me with a full 6 inches of travel which is impressive. It makes me wonder why someone did not come up with this feature much sooner. The articulation with this mount is different than my other mounts which surprised me. My other two mounts rotate from a point at the wall and move side to side. This mount only pivots at the TV end but it works well and gives a decent amount of adjustability left to right and of course, there is tilt as well. The innovation Sanus has put into this mount is very noticeable and appreciated. They obviously put a lot of effort into effective and simple installations and functionality. The Sanus Elite AdvancedFull-Motion 4D + shift mount is a well-made quality mount that made me understand why it cost a little more. If you are someone looking for simplicity and maximum flexibility in a compact mount that will handle up to a 70lb 65” TV this mount is a good choice especially if you need a mount that only uses one stud.

    Sanus for the win

Sanus just seems to get it when it comes to TV and home entertaining mounting needs, which is no surprise since they are the residential arm of the commercial AV company Legrand. If you've ever dealt with commercial quality equipment you're probably familiar with the sturdiness, thoughtfulness and ease of use and installation of Legrand equipment. Now change the name to Sanus and you can have it in your home at a fraction of the price. With the Elite 4D + Shift TV Wall Mount, Sanus addresses almost every issue a home DIY installer might get frustrated with and that's the ability to make adjustments for an imperfect installation, or an install area that has sockets, studs that are hard to get to or are too far/close together, or corners where its difficult to mount or view a TV. To that end I'll cut to the chase on the Pros/Cons of this mount Pros: 1. Great instructions and a mounting template 2. Awesome build quality and extremely sturdy feeling, with high quality hardware 3. Excellent in corners of a room with adjustments to viewing angle 4. Easy to move around, extend, tilt. 5. Relatively easy to install, although lifting the TV onto the mount arm you should use two people especially for larger TVs. Make sure you have the appropriate tools, a socket wrench for the lag bolts, it is actually easier to use a socket wrench vs. a battery impact wrench. 6. Ability to pull the TV off the wall makes it very easy to adjust TV output cables without removing the TV from the mount. Cons: 1. This mount only mounts to a single stud, instead of having a wider install plate on the wall that can go into multiple studs. 2. The vertical adjustment needs a drill with extension bit to easily adjust, while the larger TV models have a built-in pull down adjuster. 3. This mount only handles up to 65" TVs. If you want to save some headache and potentially heartbreak with a cheaper mount breaking or failing, definitely spend on the Sanus 4D + Shift mount and you'll save yourself frustration later. You'll appreciate the premium quality and adjustment capabilities anytime you need to adjust viewing angles or to connect or disconnect cables from the back of the TV.

I didn’t want to pay GeekSquad installation so I figured I would give this a go. I’m handy so I was confident that with a little help from the wife/kid we could do this. Out of the box, everything looked clean with no dents or scratches as it was packaged well. There is an assortment of screws, spacers, and washers that come with it to help adapt it to different TVs. The unit arrives preassembled which I wasn’t expecting. I’m honestly not sure it being preassembled made it harder to install or not, but I did need help hold the frame up will I installed the 3” lag bolts to secure it to the wall. I would highly recommend making sure you are hitting the wall stuffs as the entire weight of the mouth and the TV. Once the mount is installed, you can mount your TV…which once again…I had to have a little help. We mounted our 55” LG QLED to the wall in the basement. Hanging the TV went well other than my wife’s arms getting tired. Functionality – This mount does exactly what it says it will do. The vertical adjustment was the biggest surprise. You don’t have to dismount the TV to adjust it anymore. That was a huge win, and it was simple to do. The mounted arm extends out about 2’ but it is not a fully articulating arm. That is saved for the joint at the end of the arm which can rotate in all directions. Pros • Easy installation with a single helper – 2 Lag screws and you are done. • Looks good and feels sturdy on the wall. • Cable management (see below). • Assortment of options for mounting hardware Cons • Cabe management (needs more room). • Heavy but needed. Overall – This is the first mount that I haven’t had installed and it when well doing it myself. It looks good and it functions well. My biggest concern is how well the joint at the of the arm will hold up.

If you want to be confident that your TV is secure, get this mount. When I first took this out of the box, I was surprised at the weight of it. I think it may be heavier than the TV itself! Installation was super simple, I really like the fact that it's held on with two big bolts instead of having a huge bracket that you have to drill many holes into the wall to secure. I think the longest part of the installation was figuring out the bolt and spacer combination to use to mount the bracket to the back of the TV itself. (it comes with way more hardware than you should need) It probably took me half an hour total installation time. The best feature of this TV mount is the height adjustment bolt. I love the fact that I was able to put the TV on it and then you can raise or lower the TV about 4 inches either direction. It was always a pain before to figure out how high exactly to install the mount on the wall. Having this height adjustment allowed me just, one single person , to mount a 65 in tv. The range of motion is great, you can swing the TV side to side, tilt it up and down, and extend it almost 2 ft out from the wall. If you want to feel like you have a bigger TV for a special movie night, you can just extend the TV towards you, and it's awesome! I would always try to save money and get a cheapy from Amazon or Menards (always ended up being very wobbly and I was afraid to move the Tv) but now that I have this one I definitely see the value in a very sturdy mount.

This mount is fantastic. The set up was easy although you need 2 people to set it up. This full range motion is wonderful to be able to turn the television in the direction you want to turn it. This wall mount is sleek and can go with any decor. This television mount is very heavy which means it is very strong. The steel will ensure that you have a sturdy mount to mount your tv on. This mount accommodates television in the range of 32-65 inches, with the frame being so well built, you don’t have to worry about your tv falling, even up to 65 inches. The fluid motion is so attractive for this mount especially with a room of huge size. If you have company you can navigate the television in different directions. This television mount can work in any space as to whether it the family room or the den even the bedroom. If you are looking to purchase this television mount you won’t be disappointed. Just make sure you have someone to help you put it up because it is made to last for a long time.

The Sanus Elite BMF522 is a full tilt wall mount that fits TVs 32” to 65”. The installation is easy, and you can click on a QR code for help. I did like the fact that it has a height adjustment after install that helps if you didn’t quite place it in the right location. You can tilt it to remove glare, it swivels for perfect angle of television enjoyment, and it has a max 22” outward adjustment to be able to swivel even the largest 65” TVs. I do bring up a little pre-installation advice and that is to make sure you have the bracket on the stud. Since this mount only has one mounting bracket, you got to make sure you hit center on the stud or you could develop issues in the future, especially if you move the television around a lot. Sanus has always made great products, and this is one of them. It’s made from Study materials; the installation instructions make mounting a no-brainer. I put up a 50” TV without any fuss or issues. I would buy this mount again even for a larger television.

This is my thirdrd experience with Sanus product. The previous two were both overwhelmingly positive. Ease of use combined with high quality is what took away from those experiences. That said, this Sabus Elite - Advanced Full-Motion 4D + Shift TV Wall Mount did not dissapoint! On first experience, I was surprised with how heavy it was. That is not always a positive, but for TV wall mounts, it definately is. You know the frame has the heft to hold your expensive TV. Having installed previous mounts, I was confident in my ability. Just a few standard household tools are required. If you have not installed them in the past and/or if you are not confident in your experience with tools, I would reccomend you find someone who is handy. But overall, installation was simple. I decided to place this in my basement where we commonly watch sporting events. It's a realtively large area and when we have larger crowds (think hockey / football playoff's, MMA events etcetera) the guests can often be spread over a large area. This mount is excellent as it affords the ability to easily move the TV to where the interested folks are. End of the day, this is an excellent choice if you have the need! I would (and have) reccomend to a friend!

I was looking to mount a 42" smart monitor in the laundry room where our treadmill is. This Sanus Elite 4D mount, no matter the ridiculous name seemed like it would do the job. And in general, it did--although from a product perspective it seems to fix a problem that after mounting several of my own TVs, and some of my friends' as well, I just haven't ever encountered. It's not to say that it's not cool. It is, and it's a great idea. The marketing material suggests that your decor may change over time, requiring you to raise or lower a previously mounted TV by a few inches in either direction. Clever? Sure. Necessary? I'm not so certain. TV mounts have become two things over the last few years: easy to install, and inexpensive. Those are great things, unless you buy some fancy mount that has a super wide range of motion, or one that alleges (in one way or another) to literally move through spacetime. The Sanus Elite does in fact move through spacetime, but in the same way that all TV mounts do. The fourth dimension here is actually a third dimension, but not even truly that because it's not something that you should expect to change frequently. The adjustment mechanism is very smooth and feels sturdy, just like the rest of the mount does. The folding arms, the swivel and tilt, all feel great. Sanus also provides a mounting template, which is great-- the last TV mount I installed did NOT come with a bracket, so I had to fashion my own out of the packing cardboard, and I nearly cut my finger off in the process because I was being irresponsible with a knife. In any case, thanks to the template, and provided you can find a stud, installation is super easy with all the required hardware included for a variety of installation surfaces and TV types. The instructions were very easy to read and follow, and the pictures weren't confusing...this is something I find rare with modern installation instructions. Once installed, cables can be run through the mount to keep the installation looking clean, and micro adjustments can be made to keep the TV level. And it was a great overall experience. But the price is...high. Sanus mounts tend to be higher, but they're also ALWAYS in stock somewhere, so when you're in a pinch they're easy to get. What gets me is that at $229, a mount just as capable (without that 4th dimension) can be had for a quarter of that price that, if you're careful, will be mounted appropriately such that extreme vertical adjustments wouldn't be needed. That said, for someone who is particularly sensitive about the aesthetics of their TV setup, and simultaneously want to have some future flexibility, I could see the draw. Still, though, the price is a bit high for my liking. It's a good overall product; sturdy, trusted brand name, neat gimmick (I guess)... but I'm not sure the bang-for-the-buck is there when you can find far less expensive options at your friendly 'neighborhood' online retailer.

Best Buy staff knew exactly which wall mount would work best in my space, and their installers did a great job with installation, knew how to get best view of the new TV and were quick yet thorough, and didn't leave a spec of dust or packaging to clean up.

The Sanus Elite Advanced full-motion 4D+swivel is a Best Buy exclusive and with a range of 32"-65", it accommodates a wide variety of TVs. I mounted a 46" Samsung and the brackets were set correctly straight out of the box! Clear, well-written instructions are included including QR codes if you prefer videos, or more detail. You can even enter your make/model # of TV and it will show you how the mount should attach to the back of the TV. Installation was easy - simply locate your wall stud, center the enclosed template over the stud, make sure it's level, and mark the mounting holes. Drill into the stud, and mount the bracket with the included bolts. (Instructions are also included for mounting to a concrete wall.) All of the parts you need to mount the TV are included, simply supply your tools! They even included an Allen wrench/tip to tighten the locking screw. It is so much easier to install than a traditional flat-type wall mount in that it only requires 2 bolts. The Sanus is a stylish, modern-looking design that mounts only 2" from the wall, and utilizes a much smaller "footprint" then other wall mounts I have installed. Total install time for me was about 30 minutes, but I removed an old wall bracket first. The Elite has a full range of motion: - tilts up/down up to 5 degrees - swivels left/right up to 59 degrees each way, for a full 118 degree swing - moves up/down +/- 3 inches from center allowing you to adjust the height later if necessary - extends outward up to 22 inches It offers SO much more flexibility than a traditional/flat wall-mount. This design also offers the ability to tuck your cables into the framework for a "clean look", when fully extended or closed. I think it's a great looking wall-mount and was so easy to install!

Among the many options in the market, I found that the SANUS Elite Advanced Full-Motion 4D + SHIFT TV Wall Mount for TVs 32"-65" is a great one with a functionality that I never found before. Consider that after installation in your wall, you can adjust the TV height 3 inches up or 3 inches down to adapt it to future needs (like installing a TV cable receiver or a sound bar). When I think in a mount, until now I was looking at four components, and the Sanus elite ranks great in all of them: 1.- All pieces and hardware are included. This is the case, all is in the box and you will not need to move to the store to buy additional screws. The only pieces that you could need are a drill for the holes in the wall and a Philips screwdriver. 2.- Made of very sturdy material that it’s a great peace of mind. And this is because TV mounts are quite odd products that you buy hoping with a limited cost that will keep your big investment (the TV attached to it) safely in the walls. 3.- Quite easy instructions. Serving a few TV sizes and having so many pieces included in the box, it was key for me to have clear steps to follow. 4.- Nice design, I love the non-specialy long arm that brings the TV to the front enough while not being too invasive. 5.- I love the room in the arms to place the cables contained as much. Route your cables along the arms of the TV mount and ensure a clean and organized look for your home entertainment system. 6.- Great mobility for your TV after installation to cover all types of angles to cover all viewers' needs in your room. As I said before, in this model, you have the special feature that the TV can go up or down 3 inc. With all of that, I think that this is a great option to keep your TV in the right place. I love it
