(I didn't know that this would be an issue, but as it turned out, I actually needed this feature!) The 70" TV is still hanging from the wall so it proves that it can hold a lot of weight with no trouble, even when the tilt feature is being used. (I'm more afraid of the wall caving in than the TV falling down!) I'm super happy with this purchase.
