My issue with the stand is that the tv is so close to the wall that the power cord can't be plugged into an outlet behind the tv. And it's tough to even get the HDMI cables connected. If you don't have side mount cables then forget about this mount

If your studs are spaced perfectly in the middle of where you want your TV, it will work. But, studs are 16" wide center to center, allowing only 2" of shifting this backplate left or right because of where the mounting slots are located. Use masking tape to mark the wall where you want the center of the TV. Find the studs in the wall and mark their locations also with masking tape. Measure how far the center of the TV will be from the center of the two studs. If it's more than 3", then you will need a mount that has a 30" wide backplate. Also, the TV that I was mounting was an older 46" model that had mounting holes on the back that are wider than newer TV's. So, measure how wide your TV's mounting holes are as well before purchasing this model.
