With mag-safe capability on newer iPhones, this does have to be mounted on the lower or the upper portion of the phone. Because of this, the weight is slightly off balance so it tends to fall off easier than when I mounted it in the center. It still works with and fits under my mag-safe case. Would love a stronger magnet. I have the iPhone 12 mini. A bigger phone might be too heavy for this to be of value.
