Almost perfect!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The controller is probably one of the top 3 controllers for current xbox consoles! The only issues for this specific color would be that the grip started peeling off after 2 months! Thia problem didn't happened with the other colors!

Expensive, but 1 of the best controllers I've used
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m a long time gamer. I just recently got an Xbox Series X. The controller with the system is just fine, I like the ergonomics, and it’s plenty light, but to some degree it feels cheap. I’ve heard much about Scuf products and have always been interested in them. I like the customization of the buttons, sticks, and the extra buttons on the back. I’ve admittedly never used the Elite 2 controller, but from my perspective, the Scuf Instinct Pro is one of the best controllers money can buy. Its only drawback is the expense. It’s not cheap. But if you’re serious about gaming, not professionally, but just enjoy playing, it’s worth consideration if you can spare the dough. IN THE BOX The packaging was impressive. The box is small, but when you open it up you’re greeted with this foam pad that goes around the sticks to protect it in transit. There’s even this plastic sheet wrap on the bottom of it. I’m not sure what purpose it serves, but it speaks to the care Scuf puts into its products. Other than the controller, you get a nice, long, braided, USB-C cable and two replacement joysticks that are domed (the ones on the controller are concave). These joysticks also have different heights; for example, it’s recommended to use the taller joystick for the right one and the shorter one for the left joystick for FPS games. SETUP/THE CONTROLLER ITSELF For those that are knew to SCUF or even customizable gaming pads, I wanted to mention how this one in particular works. The first thing you’ll notice is that this is the exact shape of any Xbox One/Series S/X controller you’ve held. So it will instantly feel familiar. You need not fear breaking any plastic tabs that hold the controller together, everything is held together by small, yet mighty, magnets. You can slide a fingernail under the controller cover and it comes off easily (but not so easily that you’ll worry about it falling off on its own. I’ll go ahead and note that you can buy different color cover plates, but I’m not certain of the range of colors or prices. Taking off the cover plate is how you swap out the joysticks. With the cover off, a gentle tug of the sticks and they’ll slide right off. One thing I noticed is that there are no weights with this controller, like you’ll find with the Elite model from Microsoft. I have never thought a controller was too light or too heavy, but that might matter to some of you. Point is, the weight of the controller is the weight of the controller. Anecdotally speaking, I found it a tad heavier than the controller that came with my Xbox, but not so much so as to be distracting; after holding the SCUF for a little bit I honestly couldn’t tell the difference. The other three big features of the controller are the extra paddle buttons (P1-P4) on the back of the controller, the ability to switch the RT and LT triggers to “mouse click” buttons and the ability to map and store 3 different profiles (for the P1-P4 buttons). First, the mouse click buttons are cool and allow a quicker response; it does indeed feel like clicking a mouse. You can change one or both of the triggers by using the switch on the bottom of the controller. Mapping the P1-P4 buttons was a bit tedious to me, primarily because I don’t normally play with those extra paddle buttons. I find the learning curve steep. But the premise is, with the controller on, you cycle between the profiles using the button on the back of the controller and when you want to remap the buttons, you hold the profile button until it blinks (there’s different colors that correspond with each profile) once it’s blinking, you hold the original face button and then one of the P# buttons until it stops blinking. You then repeat the process up to four times for each P button. The only buttons you can’t remap are the Xbox home button, share button, and start button. I’m still learning to use the P buttons so I haven’t created separate profiles, but I can see where the advantage is in having them. I first just need to train myself to use them in general. And I like how you can change the profile with a push of the button on the controller versus going through a convoluted process of menus on the Xbox. The controller is powered by AA batteries, which for me is fine. I used to have some old rechargeable batteries that came with a battery cover with a hole in it (to charge them) but I don’t see that working here as the battery cover is held in place by magnets. But again, I’m okay with using AA batteries as they seem to have a long battery life. I haven’t drained the set of batteries that came with it yet, and I’ve played about 20 hours. Last, I’ve seen aftermarket rubber grips for controllers before and dismissed them as unnecessary. However, this controller has them built in and I’m sold. I’ve never really thought about sweat on my hands when playing video games, but after playing for several hours I came to consciously appreciate the rubber grip. I realize you could spend a fraction of the cost of this controller to get those grips, but the point is, it’s a nice bonus; especially for those who haven’t previously given it a thought. In terms of performance, I found it to be terrific. Playing Call of Duty with the mouse triggers was a bit different than what I was used to, but I could tell the difference in gameplay, I definitely felt like I had a little advantage (I still stink at aiming). It connects to my PC and Xbox flawlessly through traditional methods (Bluetooth on my computer, it paired immediately) and the pairing button on the Xbox console. It functions just like any Xbox controller you’ve used in the past. The difference being the quality and heft of the controller (again, I find the controller packaged with the Xbox to feel “cheap” and not worthy of such a premium console), the paddle buttons and mouse click trigger switches. CONCLUSION On some level, the fact that the controller performs the same as the one that comes with the console goes against purchasing it, given its cost. But if you like to customize your devices (i.e. new faceplates) and care about your gaming performance (i.e. different size, shape joysticks, extra paddles, trigger switches) then this is a controller you should seriously consider. It’s by far my favorite controller I’ve used (I’m not getting into the design and shape of Xbox v. Playstation, I have both consoles and love both). But in terms of comfort and features, this one is hard to beat. Its biggest competitor, however, is Microsoft itself which makes the Elite controller. The Elite in some respect beats the SCUF on customization, but that doesn’t mean the SCUF controller shouldn’t be considered.

Don’t trust the hype
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Feels cheap in the hand. B button started sticking after three weeks (button bottom cut through rubber pad, see pic). Cover plate hole for menu button not open enough on my controller causing menu to open during play. Fixed both but not worth the time or money.

||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The controller didn’t even come with a rechargeable pack. Series X controller Perfected
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ive been gaming with the scut instinct controller on my Xbox series X and laptop for about a week now and I have to admit that it is pretty awesome. The rubbery grip on the back of the controller is very comfortable and sticky. It doesn’t make my hands sweat much either. A problem I typically have with most controllers. The concave D pad is very clicky and comfortable to use in 2D brawlers and fighting games. The buttons and bumpers feel like a regular Xbox series x controller, which is a good thing. The triggers have a slight grip texture on them. The controller also has a nice heavy weight to it. The customizable paddles on the back are in a great position. They allow me to click them with my ring finger easily. To customize them, you’ll have to download the scuf software on your PC and connect it with a usb C cable. You can have 3 different profiles set up and change them with the press if a button on the back. There is also a quick mute button on the front of the controller which is a little redundant, because most headsets have a mute toggle but I’ll take it! Its close to your thumb and you can easily mute your mic with it. You can also change the responsiveness of the triggers with the flip of a switch on the back. Personally i dont like using it, but I imagine competitive shooter players will be able to use it to their advantage. The magnetic interchangeable face plate is a cool added touch. I plan on getting a different color plate later. The battery cover also has magnets on it also. If you ask me, I would say that this is the Xbox controller perfected. The asking price is a little steep, I know. But I think the benefits this controller provide is worth it. Especially if you want to customize your button set up for different games. The joysticks are also removable and replaceable, so I think the controller will be worth it in the long run. I love it, and I use it exclusively all the time. Although im not a super competitive gamer, I do enjoy playing online multiplayer games like rocket league and Fortnite.

Best 3rd Party Controller I ever laid my hands on.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.SCUF is a powerful brand in the world of gaming and they have been making noise lately but I never expect them to be this good. This is a great Xbox wireless controller from everything to build, economics, and construction. This is every bit of amazing as people talk it out to be and one of the best controllers I've used in a long time. Instinct Pro is a powerhouse and it certainly feels like one. This is my first SCUF controller but not my first Xbox Pro Controller. Unboxing the controller was pleasant and gives you everything you need to start within the box. USB-C cable that's premium, Raised analog sticks to replace the concave ones, 2x AA Batteries, and a manual to get started. The controller easily feels great in the hand and it feels so good too. It's something about the way it naturally feels in your hands that is satisfying. The extra paddles on the back are easy to get to with your fingers behind the controller. The rubber grips on the handle back handle of the Pro controller are grippy with my hands. Perfect for longer sessions of gaming and the SCUF Instinct pro pulls its weight on that. Design-wise it looks like a controller with some little touches here. With the White and Orange version, the rings around the analog are orange and there are SCUF logos on the LB/RB buttons as well as the RT/LT triggers. it's subtle but it's there. If you don't like the basic white version there are faceplates you can buy that are easily removable from the controller because they are magnetic. I certainly like some of the designs SCUF have so I'll be buying a few faceplates in the future. D-pad I'm not a true fan of but would love in the future to replace those on Pro controllers too. Instinct Pro connects to an Xbox One S / One X / Series S / Series X / PC / MacOS / Bluetooth (iOS and Android) so it's a host of ways to play your game. It's easy to connect to the respected systems as well. With PC; Windows 11 detected an Xbox bluetooth controller without me going into the PC settings for a wireless experience. The USB-C cable in the box is also very premium and it's branded with orange metal and the SCUF logo singing through. On the controller in the front is a full mic on / mic off button that changes the LED depending on if it's muted or not. This is a cool feature to visually see if the mic is on or off. Easy to get to the screenshot button also in the middle front of the controller. There is a profile button on the back of the Pro instinct controller so you can switch profiles you have made on the fly; You can have up to three of them. I like this in case you are switching from PC to console on the fly with your favorite games. This is very useful. The instinct triggers are nice to use giving you a range of degrees for shooting or using the Triggers on the controller. You can do full pulls on the triggers or short "clicks" giving you great customizability when playing. this seems to be exclusive to the Instinct pro but I love using them being a PC gamer and console gamer this is wonderful! or even if you want to simulate different weapons in a strange way. (for FPS games) There are interchangeable thumbsticks to fit your play style, as for now I like using the default sticks so will keep them on but the raised sticks seem to be for quicker response and movement. they are also dome-shaped instead of concaved raised sticks. I like having this extra feature but am unsure if I will use it often. This controller takes 2x AA Batteries so keep that in mind. Overall; I guess everyone is right when it comes to SCUF, This is one of the best 3rd party if not THE best 3rd party controller brand on the market that I've used. I can't sit here and deny the amount of effort this controller probably took to make. It feels like a well-crafted controller and you can tell they really looked at every single detail to try to make the Xbox Controller better. it shows and in reality, I will be someone who recommends these controllers to people. There is a 6-year limited warranty (!) on this controller so that is a massive plus and always good to have on something like this. I like the SCUF Instinct Pro. Isn't much left to be said that is a very good controller and a great alternative to the normal Xbox Pro Controller. if I could give it 10 stars I really would. it's perfect for someone like me.

The only controller you will want to use.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an amazing controller I’ve been using it with my Xboxes as well as my gaming PC. The easy in customization is great, build quality is very nice. It feels substantial in your hand and take what is already great about the traditional Xbox controller and turns it up to 11. The faceplate is held in place with magnets, so it makes it easy to swap them out or to get to the thumb sticks. You get 2 sets of thumb sticks and a high-end charging cable. The entire presentation is great. You have 2 toggle switches on the back of the controller that allow you to change the feel of the triggers. One mode keeps is traditional to you have greater range to press the button. The other mode makes the triggers very shallow and quick to get a press. You also get 4 extra paddles on the back of the controller, 2 per hand that you can customize to take on different roles in games. It’s been a joy to use, and it would be hard to go back to a traditional controller. Easy recommendation for those that are really looking to upgrade their controller. Works flawlessly on Xbox and PC.

The best controller for dedicated gamers
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.SCUF is known to be the go-to brand for improved Xbox controllers and I can’t say this is my first one, as I got my first for my Xbox One years ago. Since then I’ve upgraded to an Xbox Series X, so I figured it was time to get a new SCUF controller as well. The Instinct Pro has received some neat upgrades since my previous one, and I have to say I really think this is a definite upgrade and a well thought out controller. If you’re used to a regular Xbox controller, the main differences are: remappable paddles on the back, a mute button, adjustable triggers, removable faceplate and thumbsticks, a grippy surface on the back, anti-friction rings, and profiles. How does it feel in my hand? Great. The grippy surface on the back is really nice. My hands don’t sweat a lot while gaming, but I can still appreciate the improved comfort. The thumbsticks are removable and can be replaced with one short domed and one long domed. I may differ from other gamers when I say this, but I’m not a fan of a long domed thumbstick on the right side because it makes my thumb feel tired. I didn’t mind it the other way around though, with the long one on the left. It was actually very comfortable. You can also just use the regular flat ones, which is how it ships, and changing them out is really fast with the easily removable faceplate. My first SCUF didn’t have the trigger switch, which was my fault while ordering, but I’m quite familiar with the Xbox Elite 1 and 2 controllers version of this function. I have to say that the Instinct Pro takes it to a whole new level. They call them Instant Triggers and they really are; there’s almost no movement when pushing the triggers on that setting which makes it perfect for FPS games. You can of course also use it in the regular mode, with a quick flick of a switch… well, two switches, one for each trigger. I found that to come in handy while playing certain games actually. The remappable paddles on the back are different than the ones from my previous SCUF controller and both Elite controllers. I’m still deciding if it’s meant for one finger on each side or two, because it’s almost at a 90 degree angle, making it possible, if not more comfortable to hit both paddles with finger. I usually only use one on each side anyway, but it’s nice to have the other one at times as well. The other nice feature is that you have three different profiles for the paddles: FPS (blue), Sport (red) and Racing (green). In addition to that, you can change any button to what you want on any go the three profiles. Pretty neat and the dedicated profile button makes it very easy to do. There’s a mute button that comes in handy while using headsets plugged into the controller, but it will not work with wireless headsets. The controller works wirelessly, just like a regular Xbox controller, unlike most third-party controllers, but if you do prefer a cable, there’s a 6 ft USB-C cable included. Batteries are also included, and the battery lid is magnetic instead of the regular locking mechanism, making it very easy to open and close. It seems like the faceplate locks in-place in a similar fashion; no pushing and sweating necessary. Save the sweating for those Warzone lobbies. The SCUF Instinct Pro is any FPS gamer’s dream. Instant triggers, remappable paddles and interchangeable thumbsticks make this the best controller on the market. It’s also great for racing games, if you use the regular triggers and the racing profile, which changes the paddles to the D-Pad buttons. If you spend a lot of times on your Xbox, this is a well worth investment that will take your excitement and precision to a whole new level - It’s time to level up with SCUF!

SCUF is the only controller worth buying...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The SCUF Instict Pro... 2nd to none when it comes to fully customizable Xbox controllers. The Instinct Pro comes with 4 back buttons which are fully remappable, so you don't ever have to take your thumbs off the sticks. I personally love the positioning of the back buttons as they are close, and the actuation method is very flexible where your back fingers can bump into them or depress inwards to activate the button press. Additionally, there are trigger motion limiter toggles in the back for both LT & RT that provide instant triggers for FPS games to help with more efficient game mechanics. The thumb sticks are also replaceable like most other SCUF controllers and this one comes with 2 domed sticks (1 of which is taller height for more accurate precision movements & 1 which is standard height) & 2 concave sticks which are standard height. The fact that the sticks are replaceable means this is truly a pro gamer's dream when it comes to making the necessary small adjustments to get to the next level of your gaming journey, whether you are a pro or casual player. The faceplate is magnetic & removable and this helps out tremendously when it comes to maintenance & durability of the controller. Many times in the past, i've noticed stick drift on my older controllers and in order to fix it, I would need to dismantle the controllers in order to spray some WD40 or garage door grease on the stick joint to agitate micro particles/debris that may be causing the drift. With SCUF controllers, because the faceplate is removable AND/OR the sticks are removable, it makes for correcting stick drift a true breeze unlike the OEM controllers. Overall, the performance of this controller is bar none, and I wouldn't recommend any other controller when it comes to PC or Xbox gaming. No others in the gaming industry does it better than SCUF!
