Customers are saying

Customers have good things to say about the controller's build quality, adjustable triggers, helpful paddles, and comfortable grip. Many appreciate its lightweight design and ease of use, along with the extensive customization options. However, some customers reported issues with stick drift and battery life, while others found the back buttons to be less than ideal and the warranty period too short. The price point was also a factor in some negative feedback.

I thought for years that I didnt have very good thumb control until I bought this controller. I enjoy most FPS, but have always struggled with PUBG. This controller helped me improve my game from a regular gold player to a platinum player. The interchangeable faceplates are very cool, very wide selection from the mfg site. Some of my favorite faceplates are attached.

First off, i was using a turtle beach stealth ultra before this and decided to switch because the stealth ultra off two different purches failed to connect to anything randomly. Ive seen scuf for a long time, and decided to try one out. Boy was that a sour mistake. It was good for not quite a month before the embarrassing quality of it shines. Everything else with this controller is fine thats it. Do not buy at all, you shouldn't have to worry about things like immediate drift when you game

I’m a long time gamer. I just recently got an Xbox Series X. The controller with the system is just fine, I like the ergonomics, and it’s plenty light, but to some degree it feels cheap. I’ve heard much about Scuf products and have always been interested in them. I like the customization of the buttons, sticks, and the extra buttons on the back. I’ve admittedly never used the Elite 2 controller, but from my perspective, the Scuf Instinct Pro is one of the best controllers money can buy. Its only drawback is the expense. It’s not cheap. But if you’re serious about gaming, not professionally, but just enjoy playing, it’s worth consideration if you can spare the dough. IN THE BOX The packaging was impressive. The box is small, but when you open it up you’re greeted with this foam pad that goes around the sticks to protect it in transit. There’s even this plastic sheet wrap on the bottom of it. I’m not sure what purpose it serves, but it speaks to the care Scuf puts into its products. Other than the controller, you get a nice, long, braided, USB-C cable and two replacement joysticks that are domed (the ones on the controller are concave). These joysticks also have different heights; for example, it’s recommended to use the taller joystick for the right one and the shorter one for the left joystick for FPS games. SETUP/THE CONTROLLER ITSELF For those that are knew to SCUF or even customizable gaming pads, I wanted to mention how this one in particular works. The first thing you’ll notice is that this is the exact shape of any Xbox One/Series S/X controller you’ve held. So it will instantly feel familiar. You need not fear breaking any plastic tabs that hold the controller together, everything is held together by small, yet mighty, magnets. You can slide a fingernail under the controller cover and it comes off easily (but not so easily that you’ll worry about it falling off on its own. I’ll go ahead and note that you can buy different color cover plates, but I’m not certain of the range of colors or prices. Taking off the cover plate is how you swap out the joysticks. With the cover off, a gentle tug of the sticks and they’ll slide right off. One thing I noticed is that there are no weights with this controller, like you’ll find with the Elite model from Microsoft. I have never thought a controller was too light or too heavy, but that might matter to some of you. Point is, the weight of the controller is the weight of the controller. Anecdotally speaking, I found it a tad heavier than the controller that came with my Xbox, but not so much so as to be distracting; after holding the SCUF for a little bit I honestly couldn’t tell the difference. The other three big features of the controller are the extra paddle buttons (P1-P4) on the back of the controller, the ability to switch the RT and LT triggers to “mouse click” buttons and the ability to map and store 3 different profiles (for the P1-P4 buttons). First, the mouse click buttons are cool and allow a quicker response; it does indeed feel like clicking a mouse. You can change one or both of the triggers by using the switch on the bottom of the controller. Mapping the P1-P4 buttons was a bit tedious to me, primarily because I don’t normally play with those extra paddle buttons. I find the learning curve steep. But the premise is, with the controller on, you cycle between the profiles using the button on the back of the controller and when you want to remap the buttons, you hold the profile button until it blinks (there’s different colors that correspond with each profile) once it’s blinking, you hold the original face button and then one of the P# buttons until it stops blinking. You then repeat the process up to four times for each P button. The only buttons you can’t remap are the Xbox home button, share button, and start button. I’m still learning to use the P buttons so I haven’t created separate profiles, but I can see where the advantage is in having them. I first just need to train myself to use them in general. And I like how you can change the profile with a push of the button on the controller versus going through a convoluted process of menus on the Xbox. The controller is powered by AA batteries, which for me is fine. I used to have some old rechargeable batteries that came with a battery cover with a hole in it (to charge them) but I don’t see that working here as the battery cover is held in place by magnets. But again, I’m okay with using AA batteries as they seem to have a long battery life. I haven’t drained the set of batteries that came with it yet, and I’ve played about 20 hours. Last, I’ve seen aftermarket rubber grips for controllers before and dismissed them as unnecessary. However, this controller has them built in and I’m sold. I’ve never really thought about sweat on my hands when playing video games, but after playing for several hours I came to consciously appreciate the rubber grip. I realize you could spend a fraction of the cost of this controller to get those grips, but the point is, it’s a nice bonus; especially for those who haven’t previously given it a thought. In terms of performance, I found it to be terrific. Playing Call of Duty with the mouse triggers was a bit different than what I was used to, but I could tell the difference in gameplay, I definitely felt like I had a little advantage (I still stink at aiming). It connects to my PC and Xbox flawlessly through traditional methods (Bluetooth on my computer, it paired immediately) and the pairing button on the Xbox console. It functions just like any Xbox controller you’ve used in the past. The difference being the quality and heft of the controller (again, I find the controller packaged with the Xbox to feel “cheap” and not worthy of such a premium console), the paddle buttons and mouse click trigger switches. CONCLUSION On some level, the fact that the controller performs the same as the one that comes with the console goes against purchasing it, given its cost. But if you like to customize your devices (i.e. new faceplates) and care about your gaming performance (i.e. different size, shape joysticks, extra paddles, trigger switches) then this is a controller you should seriously consider. It’s by far my favorite controller I’ve used (I’m not getting into the design and shape of Xbox v. Playstation, I have both consoles and love both). But in terms of comfort and features, this one is hard to beat. Its biggest competitor, however, is Microsoft itself which makes the Elite controller. The Elite in some respect beats the SCUF on customization, but that doesn’t mean the SCUF controller shouldn’t be considered.

The controller has many aesthetic detail problems when bought new, from scratches in the area where the controller is charged to a problem with the rear LT button that gets stuck when put in rapid fire mode. I think this controller does not have good quality control and I think it is necessary to put a warranty on it because I assure you that it will be damaged very quickly. I bought three controllers and returned all three due to problems. Be careful with this controller.

I just picked up the new Scuf Instinct Pro Wireless Controller in white, and holy cow is it INCREDIBLE! Not only is it well built and gorgeous to look at, but the performance is also out of this world! Let’s get right into why this controller is the only one I would get from now on. At first glance the look of the controller is familiar to an ordinary Xbox controller, this applies to mostly the white and black versions, I will get into that in a moment. While this may look like an ordinary controller, once you pick it up, right away you feel the difference. The grips on the Instinct Pro are so good! It feels so right, where the grip is a softer rubber feel that actually grips, in comparison to the Elite2 controller the Instinct Pro grip is far superior, and the Elite controllers’ grips feel more along the plasticky smooth, almost slick feeling. Not the Scuf Instinct Pro, this grip is strong and boasts a hexagonal pattern with deeper grooves and channels that lock into your hands. The weight is about the same as the elite 2 controllers, but what you will notice right off the bat is the paddles on the rear of the controller. Unlike the Elite 2, these paddles cannot be removed. I like that better. No accidentally flicking off a paddle mid-game in the dark anymore, they are affixed to the controller. The paddles have a cool hexagonal camo pattern that can also be seen in little touches throughout the controller, the sticks, and even the charging cable. The paddles are mappable, so you can make them any button you would like to help assist in the action when gaming. FANTASTIC for those drop-shots, you know what I’m talking about. The paddles feel great and help a lot when gaming, but what’s new for the PRO model of the Instinct controller is the adjustable triggers. There are 2 adjustments, one being the normal smooth long pull and the second being the magical mechanical mouse-click type action that is so incredible, just like a mechanical keyboard, but on your controller. Talk about instant clicks, this reduces the amount of time of the trigger pull and feels as good as they sound when being pulled. Clickity clack. This controller is customizable. There are so many ways you can make it your own. The D-Pad, the sticks, and the faceplate can all be customized to your liking. Scuf has plenty of different-sized sticks and different shaped D-pads for anyone’s style of gameplay. The faceplates can also be changed out in seconds, so you have the ability to add your own flair to the controller, the faceplates are sold separately, but they have several really cool ones. If you are hardcore set on this controller, you can even get it fully customized from Scuf. The faceplate is magnetic, so it can be easily removed to replace the buttons or swap out the faceplate itself. The button layout is pretty standard to a normal Xbox controller, these ones just feel better. There is still the A, B, Y, X, Start, Select, Share buttons, Bumpers, Triggers, and the added paddles. This Controller has the hookup for a mic, a 3.5mm jack, and a new button for quick mute. I can’t stress the craftsmanship of this controller enough, it is beautiful. What’s in the box? What comes in the box is the controller, a 6.5ft USB-C cable, 2 stick replacements, and paperwork. Don’t worry, the paperwork isn’t homework, it’s the quick start guide and safety and warranty information. Out of all the controllers I have ever had, including the Elite controllers, this one is far superior in build quality, functionality, look and feel, and even customization. I strongly recommend this controller to anyone who loves gaming. Pros: -Adjustable trigger buttons -Mappable rear paddle buttons -Mechanical trigger mouse buttons with the clickity clicks -Rubberized grips -Fully customizable from the sticks, buttons, faceplates, etc. -Easy to customize or replace parts because of the use of magnets on the faceplate and battery tray -Comes with a power cord if you need it -Comes with replacement sticks -Cool hexagonal camo! -The look and feel Cons: -Uses batteries, but I am sure there is a way to upgrade the pack for rechargeable batteries. -Kinda pricey, but worth every penny!

The controller is probably one of the top 3 controllers for current xbox consoles! The only issues for this specific color would be that the grip started peeling off after 2 months! Thia problem didn't happened with the other colors!
