    I purchased this game for my son and he began complaining about how some game elements aren’t fair. I responded that many things in life aren’t fair including pirates. Boom

      It's true -- pirates do as pirates do. However, the engineers at Rare are aware of the problem with players who may be roleplaying a little too well. Please let your son know that the devs are working on fixes for player griefing.
