While it's definitely possible to play Sea of Thieves solo, we agree that you'll have the best experience with a group of mateys. You probably have a pretty good crew to set sail with, but there are other options for finding some extra hands in those cases where you would otherwise be going solo. There is, of course, the in-game matchmaking system, but other options would be Xbox Clubs and the Looking for Group feature available on Xbox and in the Xbox App!

It's unfortunate because the gameplay systems here are solid and the graphics are among the best on this generation of consoles - the water effects in particular are stunning. But the quests are dull and the combat is very basic. Strongly suggest a rental before fully diving in.

For this reason, the game is useless to me. It's incredibly repetitive. You literally do the same thing a million times over and over again. It gets incredibly boring.

Don't know if things have changed since I gave up - about a year ago. I know this is a game about pirates but, you run into lots of players who act like they want to play together and then kill you and steal everything. Don't waste your money.
