    We thought because we had an external drive that we wouldn't need the storage expansion card. With out it made downloading games take forever. Once we installed it the xbox download time was so much faster.

    If there's a performance dip, I can't notice one bit. It's annoying that games won't autoupdate if a storage space is full while indicating you have so many GB available as a total. You have to actively manage storage spaces to make sure one drive doesn't inadvertently fill up. It should automatically download updates to the other drive if space is availabile and then prompt you to make room so it can transfer. The transfer rate is much faster than downloading, even with gig internet.
