Worth the $$$

Got this and moved proprietary games over to it, youd never know you were using an external memory card. Load times are the same as if they were on the internal memory. Pricey but worth it.

Yes, there are cheaper alternatives. For the actual value, this is phenomenal. I got this for my series X and I am using an external on my series S and the difference is night and day. Would recommend it for either series but especially if you have a series S.
