I needed this because the internal storage ran out and to play series x titles you will need one as apparently using an external platter drive only lets you archive series x games to play them it has to transferred back. Not a best buy problem more of a Microsoft problem and reeks of a money grab agreement by Microsoft and Seagate.

The best external storage for your Xbox

I have a total of 12 games on this one storage. All you have to do is put the external storage in the import on the back of the Xbox console and you're good to go!!!

Just make sure to set your XBox to decide where to install games (internal vs external drive). This way all your games remain visible on both drives. I took off one star because it is so expensive.

I used it on a series S to add more space for all the Game Pass games I download, and it's worked great.
