Seagate drives come with a three-year warranty. Like all things made, they do sometimes go bad. I have had drives go bad under warranty and their warranty return is easy to use. This is a retail package and comes with a SATA cable, LP4 to SATA power adapter, CD with software to clone your old drive to your new drive, and a small sheet of instructions.

It is a good hard drive. If possible I would have ordered online and saved some money but it is nice that Best Buy carries drives so that I can replaced a crashed hard drive quickly. For that reason, it is worth paying a little more.

I bought this to replace one of my dual hard drives when it crashed. This drive installed smooth as silk! After installing the drive, I turned on the computer and after booting up, the back up drive program took over and made a mirror image of my main drive. Now my PC is protected from a single hard drive crash one again!!

I am having a problem opening the case to my compaq tower. Can someone give me some direction online, or, should I bring it to a store for help?

Bought as an exact replacement for a failing hard drive which was in an older computer. Hooked up the data and power cords, bolted it in, rebooted and cloned the old drive. I then removed the old drive and closed up the chassis. Whole process went without a hitch. Considering the price, if this drive lasts at least as long as the old one, I'll be happy.
