Always buy seagate drive they work great. When ever i need a fresh drive i will always choose seagate 500GB +....

I have purchased many hard drives made by Western Digital in the past. Always a quality product with a decent lifespan. There is no such thing as a HDD that lasts forever but WD is very reasonably priced for the quality you get. (I do not, however, recommend a refurbished WD HDD. Everyone of those that I've had has failed.)

I purchased this hard drive for my custom built desk top computer, so I could have two more operating systems.

I bought the drive to replace a failing one. Installation was straight forward. I had an Acronis image of the original drive, which I restored to the new one. No trouble. This new drive is very quiet compared with the old one. I did not use the manufacturer's software to install the new drive so I can't comment on that.

So far so good, no complaints. Seems to R/W just fine. It may not be high capacity but it works for me.

I've had much better luck with Seagate drives over the last 10 years than Western Digital Drives. They tend to last longer and are less prone to just die which seems to be a problem with WD drives, especially the Blue series. I recommend this drive for the low cost and reasonable capacity.

Needed a replacement SATA drive after PC with some age on it suffered a catastrophic Hard Drive failure. This device was a direct plug in replacement, installed effortlessly, accepted OS and subsequent software with no difficulties. Storage size more than sufficient for my needs.

I am always a fan of Seagate HD. The last way longer than the "other" manufacturers. Great Buy at Best Buy.

I needed more space on my computer and when I went to the Best Buy store the associate recommended this product to me for the price and performance. I liked that and I haven't had any problems with it so far and it has spead up my computer.

I had full set of recovery discs which did the full install for me. Since I did not need the disc that came with the drive, I can't speak to the ease of a normal install. I am completely satisfied with the operation of the drive to this point.

I needed a backup drive for a windows XP machine. I didn't need a lot of space and it's hard to find an internal drive less than 500 gb. This drive was all I needed for a good price and easy setup.

This drive has worked fine so far but historically I haven't had great luck with Seagate drives. Some last forever and some tank. I realize all drives are like this however Seagate seems to have a higher number of drive crashes than WD for example in my experience. But this one is doing fine so far.

As technology has changed and been upgraded from standard SATA drives to using SSD drives. Every so often a client needs a SATA drive, and when that happens, we try to use Seagate. They have a good reliability and if there is an issue, they have an excellent return policy.

I used this drive to replace a bad DVR Security system drive, very easy to setup. Very low price.
