A reasonably priced drive of satisfactory performance.

Picked this up from Best Buy on the way to a customer that had a PC reporting imminent hard drive failure. Opened up the PC, connected this drive with the included Sata cable to an open Sata port on the motherboard and had the failing drive imaged to this new drive in less than 30min. Rebooted the PC from newly imaged drive, logged in and all was well. Drive installed easily and performance was perhaps slightly better than the original drive.

Good consumer grade drive. Easy to install and use

I've used this drive for about 3 weeks. It installed easily and has worked flawlessly. I liked the price per GB and the brand name has had a good rep for years.

Fast, easy to hook-up hard drive. Have always been a "fan" of Seagate products, and this drive does not disappoint. Price is about average for this type of drive.

Needed a comparable hard drive replacement for a desktop computer. This drive fit the bill and was competitively priced and available locally. So far no performance issue (installed about 6 weeks ago).

This hard drive works great. I used it to replace one that died. Installed the new OS on it and it worked just fine. Would definitely buy another one, but hopefully I won't need to for quite a long time!

The hard drive performed excellent once installed. The computer is back up and running a lot faster now since the new hard drive was installed.

Always easy shopping at Best Buy because they train their customer associates thoroughly about the products they sell and if one is not completely sure they will call in anothet who has more experience. This us a big help to a person who is clueless as to the best choice for my computer needs.

I haven't had an issues installing the product and it is running great without any issues. I also needed to use the drive to copy a previous drive and it was to do just that.

Used this for a new computer build and it was a very easy install. The drive was recognized immediately and runs smoothly with decent read/write speeds. A good bargain.

I purchased a computer with no drive in it, I bought this drive and built a Windows & pc for my office. It is a very fast and quiet drive.

Nice and reliable hard drive. The package comes with the cables and screws. Easy install. I bought 2 of them for mirroring.

I purchased this to add more storage space to my PC and it fulfilled all the requirements. Haven't had any problems yet but I also haven't had it for an extended period of time to say if it will have any issues. As of now it works as designed and I'm happy

NOTE! This review is for the Seagate - Barracuda 500GB Internal Hard Drive for laptop! When my laptop hard drive crashed it didn't take me long to figure out what was factory installed and seeing how it had survived 3 years of use with extensive travel, I did not hesitate to find a direct replacement, which was this Seagate - Barracuda 500GB Internal Hard Drive. Pay attention when buying this online (for store pick-up) though, because there is hardly no difference between the box for the internal laptop harddrive and the one for desktop. Best Buy was awesome in swapping out the correct hard drive.

I trust that the disc drive is performing well but since it was installed replacing a disc that crashed, the performance on my PC is deplorable, e.g. loading programs, files, accessing the Internet., etc. Everything is taking way too long to perform.

easy to instal.l close to pick up and quality drive at a good price. paid online with pay pal and zip, went and picked it up from the local store in an hour

We use these Hard Drives as replacements for our commercial 2TB DVR units that use 4-500GB drives. Very reliable and easy to install.

Does not make any difference in terms of performance whether you buy Seagate or Western digital, just as long as you get the cheapest price with the best total package. In this case, the Seagate drive includes power and sata cables which is both useful and convenient when compared to a similar Western digital drive. Aside from that, this hard drive functions as expected, replaced older HD, installed windows and everything is back to normal working condition,
