It works great and has plenty of storage space for a reasonable price; however, it's probably worth investing in one that uses a different cloud technology. This one uses Lyve.. which allows you to see the stuff on the drive remotely, but you have to have the software installed on whatever device you're using at the time which is a hassle. I would have bought a different one had I looked into it. Having said that, it's cheaper than others!

The 3TB capacity of this drive allows me to back up pertinent data and store all of my photos and music files. So far this drive has worked flawlessly, was easy to setup and meets my needs.

Perfect fit for mac users...Just what I was looking for. I don't evan know its there, it's so quiet.

Seagate makes such a great External Hard Drive with USB 3.0 that I bought a second one! Highly recommended for the Xbox One.. I bought the 5 Gig last year and now the 3 Gig for my son.

I have owned this external hard drive for about a month now and I like it. It runs a little hot for my taste but it doesn't get so hot that I am worried about it. I do have it up on a mesh stand though, to ensure proper ventilation, as my last drive fried from heat. I also bought this drive at my office and have a similar setup there. Overall very good purchase!

I have purchased this product before (a 2T capacity) and I really liked it. We've used it to back up our three computers. When I got my new laptop, I decided I wanted an external hard drive to dedicate solely to the laptop to back up all my data and media files. I selected the Seagate - Backup Plus Desktop 3TB External USB 3.0/2.0 Hard Drive because of the great experience I had with the 2T Seagate I already had.

Purchased this to gain space on laptop. I do wish it stood slender rather than laying flat and had a light to indicate when it's reading and writing.

I have several other portable hard drives running backups which seem to have frequent problems of one kind or another. My new Seagate external Hard Drive installed quickly and easily and has worked perfectly every day since installation with no tweaking from me. On occasion I do check the log and note that the drive has done exactly as programmed to do since day one.

Saved me when another HDD was failing. Only problem is PhotoShop says it's full even with 2.3TB of space left. Don't know why. We have over 40 of the Seagate drives for projects at work.

I bought this hard drive because of the special going on in the store. So far I haven't had any complaints except you have to download and install a new file system to run on mac.
