A: Yes, this hard drive will allow you to perform a full system backup of your Windows 8 laptop. Out of the box, you have two options: 1) Use the Seagate utility to perform a snapshot/backup of your system and maintain any deltas. 2) Windows has it's own built-in backup utility. This option will snapshot your system configuration and files (if you choose to do so). That way, once you replace your dying HDD, you can restore a little more efficiently because most of your system configuration will already be in tact. You may have to reinstall your applications. i.e. adobe, office 2013, etc.

A: Firstly, congratulations on your new purchase. To answer your question; Yes, it does say Desktop Drive on the box, but I assure you that it is the exact same product that you ordered. It is most definitely compatible with your Xbox One.

A: Yes it does, I use the same OS. You just have to download a file from Seagate to make the drive writable an Mac, because it actually come as a windows ready drive. No big deal though, I can now use it on Windows and Mac, very versatile drive.

A: While I own an Xbox One, I'm sure that use with PS4 would be just as easy. It's pretty much plug and play, after a short formatting period. There is no need to swap drives with you PS4. If you ARE looking to swap drives, then there are many better choices than this particular model and cheaper too. Hope this helps.

Seagate..Always reliable!
I always turn to Seagate whether I'm looking for Back-Up or storage solutions. I find their products to be weld made, well designed and efficient. I've never experienced a problem with their products - I trust the Seagate name to protect my most important data.

Seagate has never let me down.
I have been using Seagate drives for several years. I have never had a bad experience with any of there drives internal or external. My first external drive died on me about a month ago but I put it through severe heavy data backup for several years before this happened. I tried a WD My Book, had it boxed back up in 30 minutes and waited for the perfect Seagate external 3TB backup drive and got it, and like always runs smooth as silk and quiet and dependable. Thank you Seagate...!!!

Easy to Use
I purchased this because I did not want all of my files backed up to the cloud. For the price, this backup has a ton of storage space and is very easy to set up and use. I have not used it for my phone yet, but you can also back up several media items. For first time use, simply plug up, allow the software to load, follow the set ups and transfer your files. After file transfers, it's narrow enough to store away some place cool that does not take up much space as it's only a couple of inches wide. Plug it up once a week to back up your files and you are all set. Wonderful purchase and cheaper than some of the cloud rates over the long term.
