I always turn to Seagate whether I'm looking for Back-Up or storage solutions. I find their products to be weld made, well designed and efficient. I've never experienced a problem with their products - I trust the Seagate name to protect my most important data.

I have been using Seagate drives for several years. I have never had a bad experience with any of there drives internal or external. My first external drive died on me about a month ago but I put it through severe heavy data backup for several years before this happened. I tried a WD My Book, had it boxed back up in 30 minutes and waited for the perfect Seagate external 3TB backup drive and got it, and like always runs smooth as silk and quiet and dependable. Thank you Seagate...!!!

I purchased this because I did not want all of my files backed up to the cloud. For the price, this backup has a ton of storage space and is very easy to set up and use. I have not used it for my phone yet, but you can also back up several media items. For first time use, simply plug up, allow the software to load, follow the set ups and transfer your files. After file transfers, it's narrow enough to store away some place cool that does not take up much space as it's only a couple of inches wide. Plug it up once a week to back up your files and you are all set. Wonderful purchase and cheaper than some of the cloud rates over the long term.

I work in audio and needed some extra space on my workhorse of a computer and decided to head to Best Buy to find a good deal. They had a lot of good ones but upon reading about the ones that I saw one sale I came across several great reviews for this product. I decided to pick it up and so far it has been a key ingredient for my fairly large storage needs. reliable, fast, and a great value for the money.

I just bought one of these Seagate Backup Plus 3TB External USB 3.0/2.0 Hard Drive - Black and I can tell you that it is definitely black, but it is also blue on top, so if that is going to bother you, don't buy it. It didn't say blue on the box. I'm not a computer person, and I am not sure if this thing works right, but it does blink and it's warm, so it probably does work. Every 5 minutes or so it makes some whirring noises--it just did it again. I turned up the volume so you can hear it. After a while, the noise stops. This hard drive is supposed to back up my computer, and my granddaughter told me that I need to have one, but I don't know how to determine if it is doing it or not. I don't really understand how I'm going to get my computer to work again if I can't use the computer to make the hard drive information come out. I realized this after she connected it, and now I can't return it. Features: it has lots of holes in it, and the holes make up different kinds of triangles, so if you have a different kind of computer, don't get this one. There are two plugs in this box but once the power wire is in one plug and the other one connects to the computer, there aren't any other ones left. I don't understand this because the point of this back up drive is to back up information in case of a problem. Why didn't they give extra plugs in this box? It says it is a hard drive and the case is pretty hard. Specifications: this has 3TB, and that's more than the other ones at the store, so that's good. The TB's are important: they help store information, so get a lot of these. Details: this one is external, which the sales person told us is better. I did not see internal hard drives on the shelf at the store. Workmanship: I can't lie to you, I'm a little worried here. I like to buy products made in America, but this says "USB" on it, so it was probably made somewhere else. Not sure on this one. You should also know that this is a 3.0/2.0, which I think she said is 3.0 in memories and 2.0 in speed. Summary: this thing whirrs and then stops, and that's good. Since my cat died, I've been a little lonely here in my computer room--my dog is too old to climb the steps anymore and he's too heavy to carry--so the noises keep me company. I would recommend this drive to anyone whose cat died recently.

The hard drive has the capacity I require and it reduced the amount of desk space from the previous model. Very easy to connect to the laptop .

I purchased the Seagate - Backup Plus 3TB External USB 3.0/2.0 Hard Drive for my family but primarily my wife. Her phone was so slow from photos on her internal memory, SD card and Facebook. She downloaded the Seagate app and now all photos are automatically backed up to the hard drive, and the phone is working so much better! So simple. There's nothing better.

I did a bit of research before I bought this and I'm glad I did. It definitely outperformed it's serious competitors, and it has such a simple interface. I do recommend not using the built in software for transfers, but it is just as simple to use quick folder transfers from the hard drive to the computer. Already has enough space to hold my 2 PCs fully, and a couple video game systems. Though backing up files it would hold a ton more.

works well and yet to see one crash. They don get warm at times and find that they are simple to run and easy to use.

I needed more space for a project and had to get additional HDD. Got this one from Best Buy and it was on special offer. The box said it was good for Windows & Mac also USB 2/3 Reformatted it as it had back-up software preloaded and I had no use for that. Works very well and is ultra quiet!

It doesn't say anything about use on an Xbox one on the packaging but it works. Xbox one only has 500gb of storage and a few games and apps fill it and then you get a new game and have no more room so either uninstall a game or you can't play it. But you can buy an external hard drive like this and plug it into the back of the xbox USB port. Then in xbox go to settings and have it formatted for games or it will only work for media. But it only takes ain't to format it for games and now you have 6 more xbox one storage amount. This hard drive is 3 terabytes of storage. 1 terabyte equals 1,000 gigabytes so this hard drive adds 3,000 gigabytes to xbox ones 500 gigabytes. Now you can have much more games without having to undelete for more storage and then redownload if you want that game back. It is definitely a must have for xbox one.

I needed an external disk for backing up files that has plenty of room and this fits the bill for me. I own several Seagate external drives and I have never had an issue with any of them. I like it being a 3.0 USB and backwards compatible drive for flexibility. All hard drives can fail that holds important information, so I backup all important files to CD or DVD too.

Great dependable drive with large amount of space a Great Price!

Price, performance, and size are all fantastic. Using it as an external drive for an Xbox One, and it can hold a ton of games. Would definitely recommend as an Xbox expansion drive.

Saw this product and was amazed at the price and the value for so much storage. Have bought other Seagate products before and it looks like they have another winner. Worked right out of the box. Plugged in and a minute or so later was ready for business. So far so good Seagate...keep it up!

Great capacity and compact Easy to set up Fast transfer speed

i purchased this item as a backup device for all my personal documents and pictures. As soon as i plugged in the drive to my Surface, it was immediately usable as external storage. Copies of files were very quick using File Explorer

This is a great drive from a respected manufacturer. I got it on sale for about $120.00 - significantly less than other similar drives. It was easy to set up, and is very quiet.

This is not the first Seagate product that I have purchased and use. When I lost the cable for one of my Seagate portable hard drives -at a very inopportune time, I called the company and shared my dilemma. I was pleasantly surprised at the PERSONAL service I received and, they dropped a new cable in the mail the same day. I received my replacement in time to recapture the necessary information. This company made a customer for life. Add to their awesome customer service, the fact that their products are dependable, cost effective and easy to set-up, is more icing on the cake.
