I compared model numbers from the one I ordered and the one I just got and low and behold the numbers matched! so I was wondering if this is the same one I ordered? cause also no where on the box I found the word 'external'”

Firstly, congratulations on your new purchase. To answer your question; Yes, it does say Desktop Drive on the box, but I assure you that it is the exact same product that you ordered. It is most definitely compatible with your Xbox One.
