It does what it says it does. And it does it well.

I use it to back up videos done with GoPros and a high def hand held. Along with all other files that the Mac had on it. It works well and I don't worry about using up space on the Mac's SSD which can happen quickly with the large files in HD.

Works as advertised. I only used it as emergency backups on a server. Used 2 of these and a networked storage for redundancy due to a pierced raid. Would have liked the whole drive to be the under carriage blue. Didn't use the cloud aspect. Loses a point for proprietary interface cord.

Takes great advantage of USB 3 connection. VERY fast in comparison to the many other external drives I have laying around. Runs quiet and cool.

My lap top stopped working and this helped me determine it was my hard drive (no need to buy a new lap top yet) so reduced my stress level and gives me time to shop for a new lap top

Super easy install, lots of room for games. Went there looking for a different one, be aware that they do NOT carry all items in store. Found that out the hard way. There are plenty of options online. And cheaper.

I purchased Seagate Backup Plus a few months ago to back up the files from my laptop. It would be helpful to have a user manual to answer quick questions. The first back up took about 8 hours. I was happy to be able to recover a lost file a few days ago.

Bought this on the basis of the name/reputation, Seagate, capacity 3 TB, and price, comparable. So far it has worked for backup storage of my wife's new Surface 4. Well satisfied to date - several weeks.

No issues with setup out of the box using Mac OSX. Read/write performance as expected (using USB 2.0 only). Used once or twice weekly as a backup drive. Have had no issues in the first month of use.

had the misfortune of a WD drive crash and no backup. sent to Geeksquad and thankfully they were able to recover. This unit will be a main backup, followed by a second backup -- lesson learned.

This is our second Seagate drive and have been thoroughly satisfied with both of them. Our drive is used 24/7 and had no problem going back with Seagate after the first one stopped working.

I bought this product, called the tech support number, and they set every thing up for me. Works great now at automatically backing every thing up for me as I requested.

great hard drive. however, usb 3.0 speed not working. this is my 2nd HD from BestBuy that has this issue. the Seagate HD i got from Costco doesn't have the 3.0 speed issue....I find it odd and it's not my computer

I bought this to use with my old XP as the 2 previous Seagate 3T drives that worked with my XP were getting full. To my surprise it would not work with XP, only W7 and above, so I am using with my W8.1.

My son transferred everything from my computer to the hard drive, but it seemed to go very easy. For a 3TB I think it was a very good product for a good price.

Good capacity, 3T, and good freeware for backup. Freeware is a down-scaled Acronis. I have been using several Seagates for years and never had any issues.

I like the product but have found out that Seagate has done that tax inversion deal to get out of paying taxes. I wish I had known before I purchased the drive.

Purchased this item for use at work because I was familiar with the product and its use. Easy to use and have not had any problems with this brand of hard drive.

this hard drive has some nice data back-up features, including the ability to transfer files to your google cloud file on a set schedule. very handy.
