Reasonable Choice for Storage

My only complaint is that the bottom port is always "hot" even after the computer is shut down. I realize this is done so people can charge their phones, but the downside is that any storage device connected to that port will remain running after shut-down unless it is physically disconnected. For me, shutting down the second device via the system tray prior to shutdown works sometimes, but usually it powers back up after shut-down.

Slow transfer speed on Mac OS
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Before I read the reviews & I knew that the data transfer speed would be faster using a "fire cable", however, a hard drive in this price zone & with 4TB memory could be worth the wait, unless, you have tons of work to do on the CPU. I have not had any problems with the sea gate 4TB device so far but I have not tried the cloud either. With personal experience, storing information in the "cloud" has not proven to be 100% reliable yet. "Dude where's my car!".

Great HD for the Money

I purchased this model based on reviews from multiple sources. I've stayed away from larger drives due to high failure rate. That does not seem to be a problem for this drive. Using it has a secondary, off-site backup for my photos. So, don't really need the USB hub, but heck, guess it's there if I do.

An excellent addition to Mac OS Time Capsule

This unit provides an excellent external drive for my system. In the several months that I have been using this external USB 3 drive, I have had no problems.
