Purchased this for video storage uses. Went through three WD drives that all failed. So far this Seagate has been great with very good transfer speeds.

It is certainly plenty of storage as a back-up drive (and lots more). If you're on the fence about how much storage to purchase, go with more.

Excellent device. Can be used for backup drive or just as an external hard drive. It is USB 3 capable which speeds up the process.

It's an external storage. Nothing special about it, but it does what the product description stated. No issues, works as advertised.

Always had good luck with Seagate drives. My western digital portable drives seem to have a 1-2 year life span and die.

After reading the reviews, I decided to buy the seagate for what I needed. Not planning on running continuously, just backing up photos. Not complicated, but written instructions would be helpful.

I need that extra big memory hard drive and I picked this out. it works excellent just plug it in it comes up on my Mac right away and just put the stuff into it has lots of memory with a 4 TB

I wanted the all metal 3T WD drive, but they were out, so I got this instead. It's a 4T formatted for Mac, and so far so good. The case isn't all metal, however it stores photos pretty fast!

When my old computer crashed I did not have a backup. OOPS Now I will never have that problem again.

This one is for mac only, I needed to return it but it worked like a dream on my mac. but in my line of work I deal with both PC and Mac so I need to make sure we can transfer from both.

Had a problem transferring data from my old computer initially but customer support was superb.

There are many external drives out there to choose from, but you can't go wrong with this one.

Bought this to use with our Netgear router in order to create a share drive at home. This external hard drive is not compatible with Netgear model router. Works fine otherwise.

The memory here is not of the past, but of the future kind. It works great!
