Yes it’s a platter drive but it’s 7200rpm for all those files you don’t care to load a little slower. It’s hard to beat for the $ to GB. SSDs do drop in price from time to time, but for my money I’d rather trust this old school tech than a subpar/budget SSD anyday.

We purchased because a hard drive crashed on one of my machines. We used Seagate Barracuda 2tb hard drive to replace the failed one. It a decent speed 7200 rpm drive. Performs as expected. So far it has been great! Very happy with the price and performance.

Your games are maxed out at 60hz but for extra files and small games its worth it

This hard drive was very easy to install and was a lifesaver. I didnt have much space in my pc to begin with.

it's 2TB for under $60 & it works. great for a 2nd HD to keep less played steam games installed on.

Slow startup compared to SSD, So we used the SSD for the system. This was to provide extra storage.

I use this drive as an internal mirror to my main drive with Windows 10. This way, I’m protected from unexpected drive failure. My main drive is a 2TB Seagate barracuda as well, but it is about 6 years older than this drive, and still going strong. I will continue to buy Seagate for their reliability.

Very easy to install and set up now with Windows 10. This use to be a little more involved with older versions on Windows. Snapped it in place, installed a new installation of Windows 10, and that was it. Only gave 4 stars because it is brand new, less than a month old, so can't say it is great. Would need to know how long it is going to last, but had pretty good luck with Seagate drives.

For an hdd (not a ssd) it has pretty good read/write speeds. I use it mostly as a secondary drive for general storage. I have a couple games installed on it and the load times are less than my ssd, but I wouldn’t have noticed it, if not for my primary ssd drive.

Just works like it should. Good drive for storing data. Wouldn't recommend using it to install windows 10 or 11. But good for everything else.

I soooo needed this. One of my best purchases to date ! For only 50 dollars I was able to expand my storage ! Now I can download a ton of more games and a ton more custom content and mods for my sims games !:)

When a product works just right, there doesn’t seem to be a need to use up a lot of words, does it? That’s the case with this drive. Everything worked just fine and it was easy to install and operate. I recommend it.

Exactly as expected, service was great and quick even during holiday, works like a charm and easy to install.

Good drive for the price. Some issues with the cloning software had to use a 3rd party cloning software to get'er done went much faster anyway. After a couple days of run time (Windows 10) had some corruptions ran a full chkdsk/f and repaired no issue since then.

Was looking for cheap mass storage on my PC build and these delivered. I only store pictures, files, and other simple apps on here as I put my operating system and games on an SSD. While the future of storage turns to SSD for its blazing fast speeds, these still serve a purpose. Overall, satisfied with my purchase.

My PC is fast AF after this. Went from a default to this and I have no regrets at all.

Yeah it's a good hard drive. Not much else to say about it. Barracude is good for indie games and the like since they're not too file-heavy. You'd probably still want an SSD for something like COD WZ or in the future for Halo Infinite.

Seagates are the top brands for HDD. This one is no compromise super efficient storage drive. I only wish if they would also include SATA and DATA cables in the box. But for the value its not bad.

Working amazing so far. My husband has used this brand before and been thoroughly pleased with it.

Used to build a spare computer and provide extra storage space for files. Would not use for heavy read/write speed applications in comparison to a SSD or NVME but is useful for file storage.
