It works great as replacement from Maxtor 500 gb 1/2 of a 1 tb hard drive a little slow for use with games but perfect for back up storage.

So far so good, purchase and install date around (Oct. 2025). Will update as time goes if anything goes wrong.

Bought a pair of these to use in a home server in a RAID configuration. They were easy to install and the system recognized them and I was able to easily set up the mirrored configuration so I have some redundancy in my server. So far so good. Recommended.

Good cheap second drive for storing a lot of data for a price that's as low as others. But I like the option to use PayPal on the website ordering and it was delivered free. Pretty convenient and easy to use ordering process. Arrived in two days

Really not bad for the price. The speeds weren't mind blowingly fast but that's normal for a HDD. We were able to move 4TB of data over in about 2-4 hours.

If you want something for gaming not a good choice it will bog down your read and write speed and load times are terrible. If you are looking for something for office work with nothing intensive this is what you want. I did not know too much about the differences at first and listened to the people at best buy and I can tell you they have no idea either.

It’s a desktop hard drive. It works as intended, though it’s much faster than I had anticipated. Best used as a secondary drive for storing large files like video games.

Awesome hard drive for the money. Plenty of storage, fast read and write, and a reputable company. Will buy again.

I had to install Windows 7-64bit using UEFI/EFI rather than legacy support in order to format drives to full 8gb partition. After that it works fine and now have a larger data and backup drive in my PC.

One of the best options for bulk storage at the price. If you have drive docks, you can swap these out. Great for backups.

I have no issues with the Seagate Barracuda 8TB. They are solid and works as intended. I used to purchase Western Digital exclusively but they were not transparent about the specs of their hard drives. The Seagate is good and reliable.

It IS NOT fast. Obviously but for having a storage drive it works like wonders so far. Bout 100mb/s max but it does work. Does store and does what i want it to do. No failers so far after 2 months.

Excellent so far, but I am partial to Seagate as their drives have yet to let me down, spins right up, have it currently working inside of a UnRaid server.

As a student I had no choice but to make the purchase and i dont regret it one bit is working just fine. Is what i was looking for in a HDD.

Works fine so far, little bit of noise but common for a larger drive. Easy as pie to install as always. Also just for note in case anyone is new to HDD installs in PCs, you will need the SATA cable still unless your PC already has a spare.
