Cheap, reliable lots of storage great for storing large files

Cheap for the amount of space and it works just fine.

The drive is being used as a backup drive. It has been running well since I've had it, although I can't speak to any speeds since it is connected via USB.

This Seagate Barracuda drive works great. Great for gamers

Easy to receive and install, hooked and connected right off and allowed me to format and everything we loaded the drive right off.

Needed extra space for my movie backup especially for 3D playback is perfect great drive. Still plenty as I’m adding one by one.

Well I dont know if its this new hdd or my pc other components which makes it not upload windows ocassionally and freezes up once on a while. Pc a lil too slow for my taste specially compared to my old 4tb hdd buy it at your own risk, perhaps I need a faster processor or more memory but the makers of the hdd dont mention that need

Doesnt come with bracket screws, gotta get a sata data cable separately, and for me, im prettu sure mine is faulty out the box. Plugged it up and pc wont boot. Nothing loose, and boots up fine when i remove it. Im sure the storage is great but in terms of a hard drive not including snandard screws kinda sucks honestly.

great hard drive, it is mostly silent with minimum vibration, lay it on high density foam to make it quieter

I have used 1TB, 2TB, 3TB and now 4TB BarraCuda drives. "ALL" of them are still functioning fine. These are excellent hard drives.

A very reliable HDD, for a pretty reasonable price. A lot slow but that's to be expected.

Rsync'ed 2TB of data from WD 4TB (SMR) to the Seagate Barracuda 8TB (turns out it is also SMR). Took almost 9 hours. 3 hours longer than I anticipated. Did the same 2TB copy from one WD 4TB to a different WD 4TB drive, it took six hours. Since I already moved the data, I decided to keep the drives since the SMR penalty is paid during writes. And this server is for archiving, it is something I can live with. But if I had know before hand, I would have maybe considered the WD 6TB. For more information research CMR vs SMR vs PMR.

I backed up about 3TB of data with no issues. Only time will tell though. I will update if anything goes wrong.
