It’s size is right, it doesn’t take much space on your desk. The price on the terabyte was less than on the 500.

It works great!

I did not want to add another partition to the existing drive for back-up. So I picked this one to do the job. It is smallish, fits right on top of my desk top; the supplied cord is long enough to connect the nearest available Ethernet connection. I love it.

Why don't they sell these in stores anymore?

All the newer external hard drives they have in store today and most of them online are the "back up" external hard drives which I don't like and Best Buy had this regular external hard drive online which was the one I was looking for. If they had it in store, I would've gave it 5 stars.

Easy to use as a back up

Not only did Best Buy do a similar price match, but it came quickly. It was easy to upload photos and videos, even though it might have taken a long time. Simple, slick and easy to use.

Why I never backed up any material/data/files previously is beyond me. Seagate for Mac works like a charm and I now backup files regularly. I would hate to have to retrieve and re-install all I put into my business.
