I desperately needed to upgrade the size of my external backup and this drive gives me enough space without breaking the bank. I purchased it to replace an older, smaller backup drive from Seagate. I was surprised to find this new drive did not come pre-loaded with Seagate's backup software (which I was already familiar with), but I was able to easily set it up as the backup drive through Windows' Backup and Restore tool. Overall, it works very well with minimal effort on my part.

I got this for my father so that he could save on something less lose-able then a thumb drive. I really wanted something super simple for him and this is PERFECT for people that need that. You really just plug it in and drag things to the folder. Easy peazy.

Works as expected. USB 3.0 is fast as long as you plug it into a USB 3.0 port on the computer.

a good bang for the buck, great for PC, easy to install

This was purchased to use as a dvr recorder for a portable satellite dish. Opened the box, attached the usb cord to the satellite box and formatted it per the onscreen instructions. Does not get any easier than that. Other than being a bit pricey for what it is I have no complaints.

I was delighted to get this product home, and after some trepidation knowing my lack of electronic abilities, find that it was super easy to use. I just plugged it in, followed the directions and dragged and dropped my photos onto it for safe keeping. Being a traveler, I have thousands of pics I wanted to be sure were kept in more than one format. Burned to CD and now on this external hardrive. In case San Diego burns down again, I can now grab and go!

My old computer was over 10 years old. So when I purchased a new computer, a friend recommended buying this to have more space. I loaded all of my old documents/pictures and everything else on this.

I have a 260gb external harddrive I got about 4 years ago for $69.00 . It has been full for a while after using it for backup and storing music I record on cubase. When looking for something new I stumbled onto this little gem that is a full TB and the exact same price I paid 4 years ago for something with a fraction of the space. Not only that but they also made it so it only uses 1 usb slot where as my old one used 2 usb ports. So quintuple bonus!!!
