You would need to transfer the game onto your Xbox x series/ps5 internal storage first in order to play the game. I didn’t know that so I will be returning it for a more capable hard drive for new gen consoles.

Easy to set up and use on his Xbox Series X. I do find it a little annoying the light flashes when the Xbox is turned off but everything else about it is great.
