Mechanical failure - again!

Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Within a 5-month period in 2023 I had three (3) 12TB Seagate Exos drives mechanically fail after 3 years in service. I figured it was just a bad design and opted for this Ironwolf Pro 16TB as a replacement. I purchased it 2/25/2024 and installed it in early March 2024. Several months ago it started beeping at me and I knew the end was near. Two weeks ago it finally gave up the ghost altogether after ~25 months in service. In 28 years of computing, the only drive mechanical failures I experienced were these four (4) Seagate drives. This will be the last Seagate drive I ever purchase.

Dead On Arrival

BUYER BEWARE

They will send you a DEAD ON ARRIVAL product and when you try to return it, day of, their website will send you through a loop of errors making it impossible to return. After that their customer service will be completely useless and won't return it for you. Don't worry you will have to drive to the store will they will force you to accept store credit for more of their garbage broken products. Don't be like me, don't waste your time and money purchasing stuff from this unbelievably cursed website and business.
