Dissapointed With Support
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like the concept and the product may be good but terrible tech support. Looked online to determine why it wouldn't connect initially... No troubleshooting guide seems to exist regarding my problem and the only option is to send an email and wait up to 48 hours for a response. Returning it to BB now and won't be buying another seagate product any time soon. You are a tech company in 2016... 24hr tech support is the cost of entry.

Great inexpensive NAS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very good inexpensive NAS, easy to configure. Only CON is copying large amounts of data to the device is slow, but otherwise expected. I Love the built in PLEX capabilities ( which is the main reason I purchased). For this price point it's a worthwhile investment.

No Recycle Bin Service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I deleted several files by mistake, so I looked for the recycle bin and I did not find one. According to Seagate's website, the NAS OS 4.x supports Network Recycle Bin (NRB), I sent an email to Customer Support and they replied that the NAS OS 4.1.9.1, included with the Personal Cloud NAS drive DOES NOT HAVE Recycle Bin Service. That is absurd! They are providing a limited operating system and never disclose it. I am very dissatisfied with this product and Seagate. Customer Service is limited to email. I could not find any way the call Customer Support or chat with them. That is the worst Customer Support I have found in this industry. I am planning on returning this device and try a different and more reliable brand.

Too complicated
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed an external hard drive to store documents and photos and this product is just not user friendly. It's too large (the size of a modem) and heavy so it's not portable. It was a mission just to get it set up and still never managed to save anything on it. The instructions that come with it are very vague.

Very Disappointed - Unique to Windows 10?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a little confused by all of the 4 and 5 star ratings. I am really struggling to get the software to play nicely with Windows 10. I wonder if those who have had good experiences are either plugging in and using as a standard drive (not using the backup software), or are on Windows 7 or 8. When I go to use the back up function, it continually gets stuck at 4%. After searching, it apparently requires extra work to get working correctly, and while I could spend 1/2 a day figuring it out, I don't plan to, nor do I think I should have to. Very disappointed as I chose Seagate specifically because of good experiences in the past and have had reliability issues with WD.

Terrible Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was complete and utter garbage. This item should be simple plug and play. I ran into an insane amount of issues, once I solved one issue, another popped up. After 3 hours of fiddling with the thing trying all of the different commands in Terminal, registering the product, downloading the app, downloading the software, it STILL didn't work right. I would put some photos on, they would get deleted, I would try again, they would get deleted again. I got fed up and returned it to BB, going to get ANYTHING other than Seagate.

DO NOT BUY
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just receieved an email saying that their remote access tappin service will discontinue, you will be able to use FTP but their remote access app will not work anymore. I used this all the time and now their service with that company is going away. Buy WD anyway its a better product.
