Philips Hue bulbs are much better

The only downside is that only one phone can control a set of lights, so if someone else needs them in the morning, they may just have to wait; or have them turned up the night before and then turn them off manually, eliminating them as a night-light. I think I would recommend them as a bedroom bulb if you are simply controlling them by Bluetooth from a phone

I put it in a fixture near my front door and configured a routine to automatically power on when the door opens for when we've forgotten to leave a light on and get back after dark. It is magnificent for that, however I've since realized that having the automated / smart-controlled bulb means the switches must be left on and can't be used to power the bulb on or off. First world problems, I suppose, but is the world we live in.
