||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.At first my echo dot 3rd gen couldn't detect it (screwed into my desk lamp and turned on). An hour later Alexa found it (software self update?) and the rest of the setup was smooth sailing. Testing with the voice commands was also smooth. Then i tried to turn it on with voice commands after manually turning it off, which is when it fell apart. Resetting the bulb and restarting the dot was a complete waste of time. I even tried setting it up thru the sengled app. That went laughably poorly. It wouldn't been nice if the freebie to an echo dot purchase weren't such a waste of resources.

I had seen these before but thought I didn't have a need for them. If I can help it, will never go back to regular light bulbs. They are wonderful and very convenient. You don't have to get out of bed to turn on or off the lights.
