Stopped working with Echo Dot after about a week

It was Very difficult to set up and once I did get it set up it worked for about a week and then Alexa started telling me the bulb was unresponsive. I’ve tried many times to reconnect hoping that would solve the problem to no avail. I would appreciate any suggestions as to how to solve this problem
