Basically screw in in your light fixture and let your echo device find the new device or use the Amazon Alexa app find it and name it. After that you can turn it on or off with the app or ask echo to do it. It will also get dimmer if you like. Nice that you don’t need a third party app

They can be turned on individually by telling Alexa and they can vary their intensity. You can also program Alexa to turn them on at certain times of the day or by using special actions like saying "Good morning."
