The quality of the product is good. Giving it 3 cause it doesn't allow a lot of functions which are present in its relatively costly counter parts.

    Really Easy Setup

Setup of the lightbulbs was a breeze. Just screw in the bulbs then connect the lighting hub to your networking hub and you're pretty much a go. Then download the app to control. You can schedule when they go on, control their brightness, and pick which color to shine. They can be configured as one or together. You do have to remember to leave the switch on, otherwise you can't turn them on and off from the app. Speaking of the app, the one negative thing about using them is each time you start the app there is a slow animation that shows before you can control the bulbs. It takes too long. If you want to have some fun, turn the lights on and off when you aren't home and your kid/spouse is. You don't need to be on your home network to do that. Expensive if you want to do your whole house with these bulbs but you shouldn't need to buy another lighting hub for more bulbs. Just be smart about where you use them.

I tried for about an hour to get a light to pair with the hub. It worked for a minute, then lost connection and wouldn't reconnect even when I tried to delete and re-add it. Then I tried the lights in hubless mode and that didn't work at all. I ended up getting a Hue starter kit and was up and running in 10 minutes.

The Sengled color bulb start kit is great for anyone trying to add some colorful light accents to their home at a relatively low cost. These bulbs do not physically appear any different than your standard LED A19's so it is really easy to install these in any form whether it be a lamp or ceiling light fixture. I personally chose My hanging kitchen lights which just coincidentally happen to need 3 bulbs. Setup out of the box is really simple, just install the bulbs (ensuring light switch or power source is off) and plug the hub into your router via ethernet cable and lastly the power cable. Once you download the app you should be up and running with minimal effort connecting the app to the hub. Setting up the bulbs into a group was easy enough, from there I was able to get cycle through the various preset color schemes and also the manual color picker. At first I was a little surprised at the somewhat sudden and rough transition the bulbs made when changing the color combinations. In my experience with other smart home bulbs there is a much smoother transition and also a seemingly wider range of colors to set the bulbs to. It was very straightforward setting up schedules for the lights as well, although it was vanilla process with just straightforward time settings and 3 options for scheduling including a wake up. Another item I would like to see with these bulbs is a slow-on or instant-on option. Right now they are just instant on without any gradual increase, which is beneficial when setting these up to wake you. Overall - the Sengled Element kit is an extremely cost effective product that is easy to setup and configure without too many over-bearing options. A few minor touches to the operation of the bulbs would give an extra star, but by no means is a 4 star rating taken lightly. I think that Sengled has a great product line with room for improvement and I look forward to exploring other options in time!

worked great at first, went trough software updates and loved the app. but then randomly at night they would go off and start flashing. reset and then would lag on the app or would not turn off with the app and had to manually turn it off negating the smart aspect of this product. might of had a defective product but when it worked it was grat.

Unable to even complete setup due to terrible app. Tried on an Android and iOS device using two different networks at different houses. This lower price is not worth it, go with a premium brand that offers a better user experience.

These lights are supposed to be wireless, however, you need to connect the hub with an Ethernet cable to the router. You can technically connect it to WiFi, but the Ethernet cable still needs to be plugged so that defeats the point of it being wireless. The lights also aren't nearly bright enough and the color accuracy with Alexa isn't the best.

The Sengled Smart LED light bulbs and hub are pretty simple and great for adding a little color and mood or personality to home lighting. Setup: Easy as unboxing the hub, lights and swapping out the bulbs for these. You'll need to install the Sengled Element Home app for the initial setup where the App guides you through setting up the hub to connect it via wifi and then setup the bulbs. From there you can connect it to IFTTT, Samsung Smart Things, Alexa or Google so you can use your voice to control your lights. Use: With the Element Home app you can control each bulb independently or by group and tag them to specific rooms, fixtures, locations, etc to fit your needs. With the advanced settings you can control and set timers, tune the colors of the bulbs and turn them on/off. The app has some presets for colors but really is very straightforward and I wish there were more preset "scenes". In addition, there are no widgets in the iOS app which would make it a bunch easier to get to the controls. In addition it seems there are limits of how many groups of lights you can have. I would definitely recommend planning on using Google, Alexa or IFTTT. until Sengled enhances their app. On the positive side, the hub/lights are very responsive and fast to respond to commands. The app does tell you how you use them and energy use/savings which is cool but I'd rather see more focus on the other lacking features of the app. Light/Color: The light and color is almost exactly what I expected with the brightness being just right. In terms of hardware, these bulbs and the hub seem pretty good and I have had no issues with them! Overall, I'd recommend these as they are simple quality lights. I would think that given the feedback Sengled will update the app (hopefully) and I'd rate them 5 stars!

    Versatile Smart Lighting

While smart lighting isn't anything new, it isn't as mainstream as you'd expect. There are several different manufacturers who are creating new products to enhance our living spaces. One of the larger manufacturers is Sengled. They have several different products to get started in the world of smart lighting or add to your existing collection. This review is for the Element Color with hub, which is everything you need to get started. Adding color to the LEDs always adds to the expense and is really up to the buyer if it's worth the additional cost. The beauty of colored bulbs is it also allows you to adjust the white levels from warm to daylight. Of course, you also get to pick any other color you can imagine based on your mood. Setup is easy. The lights already come paired to the hub which will save some time and headaches. Adding additional lights is as easy as scanning the QR code on the bulb with the Sengled ElementHome app. Light output is great at 800 Lumens which is the equivalent of a 60W bulb. Of course you can control the brightness anywhere from 1-100% which is a great flexibility you don't get with conventional bulbs unless you install a dimmer. The app gets mediocre review, but has some nice touches that aren't in others - mainly the ability to see your power consumption total as well as the individual bulbs. After using it for a little bit, the initial clunkiness went away and I like it. The lights can also be paired with Google Home or Amazon Alexa. Pairing with Google Home was simple, just login to your Google Home account and add device. You'll find Sengled in the list and provide your account credentials. This will give you voice control of the lights as well. Overall, I'm very pleased with the product. I also have Hue, but being able to control all the lights with Google Home, makes it very easy with no need to switch between different apps.

This is a review of the Sengled Element Color Plus A19 LED (3 pack) with hub. Since I already had (and reviewed) the Sengled Element Classic A19 Smart LED Light Bulbs (3 pack) with hub, it may appear that this was an unnecessary purchase, as I already have a hub from that kit. However, I have that first setup at a vacation home, and I wanted something for a spare room at our home that has a color issue. No matter what color white bulbs I put in there, the color looks terrible. Yes, I know it is the pinkish walls, but everything is so darn rosy in that room, I can’t stand it. So anyway, I got this similar setup but with the full color bulbs. Woohoo! So, on to the review. As with the other kit, installation is a breeze. The bulbs are already paired with the hub, so installation is easy. The hub needs to be connected to you network via ethernet, but can be changed to wireless if necessary. I left mine wired. Since I have another hub at another location, I was curious how they would work together. I was happy to find that it was just as I wanted. Both hubs can be added to the app on the same account, and appear in different rooms. Very easy to switch back and forth between the two homes. I just need to make sure there are no duplicate room names - Master Bedroom in both locations, for instance. So, bulbs added and configured, now to setup a scene for the effect I want in this color challenged room. Create scene, give it a name, select bulbs - all three in my case. Now, set up devices - brightness and either color temperature (Edison, Warm, Neutral, Cool, and Daylight) or pick a color from a color picker with about a bazillion colors. See included screen shot. Great, except if you want a particular color for all three bulbs. There is no way to select all three and configure them. Each has to be done separately, and if you are picking from the color picker, it is impossible. Either allow all to be configured at once, or make a copy paste function. Anyway, got the colors as close to each other as I could, but didn’t like the results, so went back to trying the Color Temperature of Neutral and will live with it. Plusses - Multiple hubs on same account works. Works with Alexa, Google, and IFTTT. Minuses - Unable to accurately configure color of bulbs beyond basic Color Temperature adjustments. No scheduling option built in.

The charging cable (for the hub) is 2 feet and uses outdated connections. Good luck if they go bad. You can't use the lights without it. Other than that they are okay. Seriously though, not worth the future issues due to short and outdated cables.
