My bulbs didn't last but about two months, then they won't stay on the assigned color. They flicker a quick rainbow every time I turn them on now. Lol.

These SengLED Element bulbs are fantastic as regular LED bulbs. The color change function is a nice add on and leads to fun decorating and setting a mood in an all-SengLED-lit room. The app and controls however leave a bit to be desired. The bulbs are very bright and seem to be competitive with the name-brand bulbs with similar features, and enrolling bulbs with the hub was a breeze. Very simple. The fallout happens when you want to customize rooms, change configurations. Or even switch between room-based, and individual bulb customizations... The app is very low quality and clicking through this seems more like back-end config than UI. Very administrative, not user-focused. Also I have yet to figure out how to integrate into Google Home, and I’m not an Alexa user.

The Sengled - Element Color Plus A19 Smart LED Light Bulbs offer a wide variety of possible settings including Brightness, hue, and Smart-Home controls. This package comes with the hub required for working with 3rd-Party devices such as Amazon Alexa and Google Hub. Set up was simple and connection with my Alexa device was seamless. I did have to do a little adjusting after I moved the lights to new locations and gave them new names. But these are my first Smart-Home bulbs and that was just part of the learning curve for me. The only reason I did not give this 5-stars is because it is a bit more costly than bulbs that work with Google Home without requiring an additional hub. Otherwise, these are great, full-featured smart bulbs that work very well.

I was excited to jump on the LED, home automation, trend. However I found the Sengled hub and app to be lacking. In the box you'll find 3 standard base bulbs, a hub, power cord and an Ethernet cable. You will need to download the Sengled Element Home app to get started. This is where I ran into my first, less than pleasant, experience. In order to sync the Hub to your phone, you will need to physically connect the hub to your router, and it has to be the same one that your phone is connected to. For me, I have a booster, so after attempting to connect to the router and failing, I had to go to my booster and connect. The ethernet + power cable distance isn't more than 4 feet. This meant, for my booster, sitting on top of the desk, I had to leave the hub dangling mid air to stretch the cord down to the power outlet. Yes I do have extension cords, but really, what a pain to deal with. For something that is supposed to wirelessly sync with your home network, you'd think that it would allow for wireless setup. Note - in theory, you can select the WPS setup, however I could never get my phone to pair with the hub using this method. Ok, so finally got it paired, set the light bulbs to the proper names and locations. It is easy to download the Alexa skill and quick to add in the ability for voice control. I was starting to forget about the short cord issues, until my husband decided he wanted to be able to control the lights as well. So I install the app on his phone, set up a second account, plug in the ethernet and pair the phone to the hub. Ok, 5 minutes of extra work, but sure, if we can each control our own bedside light. I return to my app only to find that now I am no longer paired with the hub. This is the point where I decide this is a 3 star product. I bite the bullet, share the account login with my husband, and move on. The lights and functionality are great. I enjoy the ability to swap between warm, daylight, and bright light as well as the 1000+ other colors on the palette. You can also set up to 3 programs to turn lights on and off. I was surprised to be limited to only 3 programs, so if you want to have different programs for weekdays versus weekends, you're fairly limited. The Alexa interface is nice, my only callout there is to name your lights something quick and easy, because "Alexa, turn off my husband's bedroom nightstand light" quickly becomes annoying. If you can get beyond the annoyance of setup, this is a great bulb, easy interface, and good pairing with Alexa. I'm optimistic about future app updates that will bring the technology along to be as enjoyable as the mood lighting.

I have experience with the Sengled light bulbs and hub since we started with the classic A19 starter set. We wanted lights that can change color spectrum, temperature and set moods. This set was perfect for that. Also allowing us to have brighter white light instead of the warm temperature of the classic A19 which you cannot adjust. Since we already have a Sengled hub we didn't need to set up the one that came in the box. Which saved time and eliminated a step. One hub can connect up to 64 bulbs. The app is very intuitive when it comes to setting up the bulbs However, I had trouble adding them to the hub. At first, I wasn't sure why bc my first experience with adding bulbs was a breeze. Somehow, this took me about 15 mins. It kept saying failing to pair. However, this was a case of human error because we have the lights located on a lamp with a foot switch, and we forgot to turn it off so the lights came on as we placed them in the sockets. The light source should be off before setting them up. So we had to go through resetting the lights to get them to connect. After that it was a breeze, and they connected in seconds. Which leads me to their responsiveness. They responded very quickly, less than a second, to turn on and off, and to all temperature and color changes. There was no noticeable lag in response. They are also dimmable. You can turn them on and off via the app, and set up schedules. Which is how we use them. You are also able to use the lights via Alexa or Google Assistant. They are only 800 lumens and the equivalent to 60 watts, but they are still very bright. We use all three in the same room so the output is good enough for our needs. I use the app from my iOS Apple devices. I would definitely recommend these as an option over the more expensive colored bulbs on the market.

These lights are tons of fun, and so easy to use. I also love the fact that they are LEDs so they hardly use any power. I had no problems connecting the hub to my network. I have seen others stating that they can't connect to the hub from their phone. But it was very easy. Especially if you follow the included directions. It probably also helps to have somewhat of a relatively new router. I could see some connection issues if maybe your router was super old, but honestly almost any should work, if done correctly. The biggest mistakes I can see would be not having your phone's wifi connected to the same router/device that you have your Sengled hub hard wired to. A lot of houses use more than one router, switches or repeaters, to expand their wifi coverage. So for the best chances of an easy connection, make sure both the phone and hub ard connected to the same router. Then just launch the app and connect. After that you can, go into the app seetings for the hub, and put your wifi info in. This would give you more flexability in chosing a location for your hub, and bulbs, as you can remove the ethernet cord afterwards and still have control over your bulbs. From the app (as long as the light bulbs have power,… nothing will work if you have your light switches off), you can choose from a large color spectrum, to change the bulbs color. You can even organize a group of bulbs for ie. Kitchen, and a group for livingroom. I can quickly select all the kitchen bulbs to bright natural light, and all the livingroom lights to dark red, for a horror movie. You could mix n match also. Say I'm watching Star Wars with the family, the left side of the livingroom can be all red, for the Siths. While the right side of the livingroom could be green for the Jedi. You could do the same for sports teams,… and pretty much anything you want. The app, is also great for controlling your house lighting while on vacation, or just being gone for the weekends. You can open the app, and turn on bulbs in any rooms either manually, or with the schedule feature in the app. Or your kid just tells you, after you are two hours away from home that he probably forgot to turn the lights off in the bedroom, livingroom, kitchen, and den. Just pop the app open and check, then turn off what you want. So again, these bulbs are super convenient, and tons of fun!

Great bulbs, app could use work

These bulbs are great for anyone who wants to get started with smart lightning. They come with their own hub and are relatively easy to set up. However, the app could use some work. Having to add lights to "rooms" and then not being able to individually control them after that is very frustrating. The IFTT integration is a huge plus however. Ultimately these bulbs offer a variety of features at a reasonable price point and I recommend them for anyone who wants to try out smart lightning.
