Within a matter of 10 minutes I was able to install and set up the Sengled hub unit, mobile app, and have working LED bulbs. The setup was very easy and the mobile app is very intuitive. A general concern that I have had with LED bulbs is that the advertised wattage of an LED bulb does not correlate to the brightness (or the tone) of a traditional tungsten bulb. For instance, I've had issues in the past when purchasing say a 60W LED bulb and experiencing lighting that is more like a 100W tungsten bulb with a much harsher color tone. With this unit, I can adjust the brightness and color tone / warmth of each bulb as I like it. Once configured, you can simply flip the switch on a room light or turn the knob on a table lamp to turn the bulb on and off (like with any other bulb). You can then use the app to make any adjustments in the lighting as desired. I have set the lighting to bright with a daylight tone for the office and to dim with a warm tone in the living room. I like that this package gives me the ability to set up my lighting however I like it...

Because of the not mentioned restriction that product does not work with dimmers or three way light sockets, I did not have any available places to utilize these lights.

Smart home devices eventually will “probably” be all compatible but for now the war is on. I have another brand I am deep into so I was disappointed the bulbs would not seamlessly integrate with my existing hub. I suspect once you choose a brand you are stuck until everyone plays nice. What this really comes down to is an app and features contained within. That being said I set up the Sengled hub and loaded yet another app on my phone. I paired them with my Google Home Hub and started playing around. The color and brightness are very good. Options for timing exist but routines and colors are not able to be set (unless I missed it.). I did learn from reading another review there is a good YOU TUBE channel out there for this product. The app is a bit quirky, not as intuitive perhaps because I am so used to another one. I did find naming the bulbs is very important in as the app will not tell you which bulbs are running from which hub if you have multiple. I also did find you can use voice commands for colors. I am a fan but already too engrained in another platform, however that does not mean I wouldn’t recommend. I like these and since the app can be updated with firmware more improvements will come.

I really like these light bulbs. I am new to the smart home concept but I can see why a lot people get into this. Now that it gets dark at 5:00 pm these make it much easier get into my place at night. The app was easy to use and I control the lights from my phone. There are bunch of different hues that you can adjust to lights to and I think they get plenty bright enough for reading or other task. They also make for great mood lighting.

I got these to start adding some Smart Home functions to my house. They work great with Alexa and the voice commands work well. It's also nice that the hub that comes with this starter kit can add up to 64 bulbs so any extra bulbs you purchase can easily be added. The bulbs themselves are a little pricey but if they last as long as they say they do then it's worth it in the long run.

The Sengled - Element Color Plus smart light system is great! I'll start off by saying that the initial setup was extremely easy. I am confident that anyone who has the basic smart phone skills can set the Sengled - Element Color Plus system up in no-time. I got the system up and running, and immediately linked it to my Google Home system. So far, the Sengled - Element Color Plus smart light system has been working flawlessly with Google. Voice command is great! I can now turn my lights on and off without having to flip a switch. I have even setup a light schedule so that certain lights around my home will turn on as soon as I wake up to go to school. I can control my home lights from anywhere now. As for the color setting, there are many possibilities. You can control the color change affect via the app, or if linked to Google or Alexa, through voice command. Needless to say, my son has been enjoying the many different colors available. For movie nights, you can dim the lights to give you a theater like atmosphere, or turn them off with a simple voice command. I love the fact that I can control my lights from anywhere, at anytime. As for bulb compatibility, I haven't found a different brand bulb that will work with the Sengled light hub. I would definitely recommend the Sengled - Element Color Plus smart light system. You won't regret it.

This was the first time I've used colored and dimmable LED lights. The Quick Setup Guide was easy to follow (even though print could have been larger) and the Hub connected to the router very easily. Even though it said that two bulbs come already paired, I had to manually add them in order for the app to work - but that was simple to do by scanning the barcode on the bulb. The color selection is almost unlimited and it's nice for creating various atmospheres. I put one in the living room, one in my office and one in the bedroom. Each bulb can be controlled with the app separately and each can have multiple schedules to come on and go off automatically - nice feature. It would be really nice if there was also a remote control for the bulbs since my husband stays up later than I do and he doesn't have a smart phone. Overall, these are great LED's and since we are converting all the lights in our home to LED - this will be the way to go so we can set schedules and create mood lighting easily.

These bulbs were very easy to use. Just plugged in the hub to my router, screwed in the bulbs and downloaded the app. Using the app I was able to change the colors and also set timers so these lights are on when I wake up. Being able to dim the lights when watching a movie was great. I plan on getting a few more bulbs soon.

In today's world, I still enjoy using name brand stuff, because I believe it is a better product, even if it isn't. These are a name I've never heard of before, but to be honest, they should be acknowledged for this product without any hesitation. These bulbs are both color changing, but also WIFI and programmable. They come with a hub, which is a double edge sword - needing it is a pain, but the ability to manually override the schedule of a bulb is important at 3am when you venture downstairs for a quick snack or to check on a scary noise. I don't know how long these will hold up, but I hope it is for awhile because they are sharp, lots of fun to program and schedule stuff, but also to make your sometimes empty house appear to be lived in. This kit came with everything you need to setup 3 lights. Hook up the hub to your router, program the hub, and then you can run them via WIFI or that little device which is a receiver, but also an override switch Great job Sengled!

I have been wanting to add smart lighting to my apartment for some time and liked the features of this system. The Sengled initial setup was easy. First connect the Sengled hub to your router via LAN and use the app to connect the hub to your WiFi network. Subsequently you use the app to add bulbs and assign them locations/names as desired. Once a bulb is added a myriad of options specific to the bulb become available. On the "White" tab you can choose the type of white light (e.x. edison, warm, neutral, cool, and daylight) you want as well as the level of brightness you desire. By using the advanced features you can set-up multiple lighting schedules. On the "Color" tab you can choose a full spectrum of custom colors for custom or accent lighting. Overall, this has proven to be a great smart lighting system. The system is also expandable given you can purchase and add additional bulbs.

If I were reviewing just the bulb, I'd give 5 stars. However, the app interface could be improved and include additional troubleshooting tips (beyond call the support line). Additionally, the initial cost feels high compared to non-smart bulbs. ***Bulbs*** Pros - Any color of the rainbow and all the colors in-between; presets for various whites [Edison, warm, neutral, cool, daylight]; dimmable from 0%-100% of 60W (800 lumens); 22-yr lifetime (debatable) with 2-yr warranty; bright and vibrant. Cons - Cost--unless they really do last 22 yrs then I suppose they are a bargain; not rated as waterproof (however, I have used them in enclosed, outdoor fixtures safely). ***Hub*** Pros - Compact; comes with instructions; works with all Sengled lights; can control up to 64 bulbs on a single hub. Cons - Power supply is USB on one end, proprietary on the other end; requires wired network connectivity for initial setup (can be wireless following initial setup). ***App*** Pros - Works with Alexa/Google Home/IFTTT; has built-in scanner to scan QR codes of each individual bulb; simple on/off controls for a single bulb or a group of bulbs; options to rename bulbs and place them in rooms or "locations"; ability to select any color on the color wheel as well as any amount of brightness; ability to control settings of individual bulbs or bulbs as a group; ability to program on/off timers as a group or individually. Cons - The app can be confusing unless you really name and group "devices" (bulbs) well; app can control multiple hubs but doesn't show which hub a bulb is aligned to (if using more than one hub); a bit limited in help options; it just is not inherently simple but you will eventually get used to navigating it. ***OVERALL*** I have a set of white Sengled bulbs and now a set of color. I have carefully named all my bulbs and assigned them locations (e.g. Living Room, Outdoors, Family Room, etc.). I have color bulbs outside the house (for seasonal effects) as well as white bulbs on our front light pole, back deck light, and a living room lamp. I have timers set to activate the living room lamp weekdays at 6a at 25% warm brightness so that I don't trip coming downstairs. The living room lamp turns off automatically at 7a. The front pole and back deck lights come on around 5:30p and stay on until 7a at 50% daylight for security reasons. The outdoor porch/garage lights not on a schedule but are programmed 100% cool for now...soon to be green/red for the holidays. I envision setting them orange/purple around Halloween, green around St. Patrick's day, etc. The color settings are remember when we turn the lights on/off from the switch. Setup wasn't "hard" but at the same time it seemed to take more effort than it should to get things and running. Scanning the barcode of each bulb to initiate pairing is nice, but when pairing fails there isn't much "help" offered by the app. I have paired Sengled with my Google Home Hub so that I can say "Hey Google turn on the Front Pole light" if I want. That feature works great! I can also annoy my wife by turning lights on/off at home while I am at the office. It is nice to be able to turn on lights in a dark house before you come in or if you are going to be away for a while. Cost and the "un-intuitiveness" of the app are my main reasons for dropping a star. Overall, however, I do like these lights and the opportunities the Sengled app provides. If you don't mind the cost I think you will be very happy with the Sengled smart bulb system.
