Customers are saying

Customers are satisfied with the Smart LED A19 Starter Kit's ease of use, brightness, and affordability. Many appreciate the quick setup and compatibility with smart home assistants like Alexa and Google Home, enabling convenient voice control. However, some users experienced connectivity problems and found the required hub and app somewhat inconvenient. Overall, the positive feedback on ease of use and smart home integration outweighs the negative comments regarding the app and hub.

Should just stick with Hue light system. Was not easy to use and was not able to change color. Part my fault for not reading, but i swear it was not clear in description. Stick with Hue lights. little more expensive, but worth it. This low cost solution was not worth it

I would have to say that I'm a home automation junkie. Smart outlets, switches, locks and thermostats to mention a few throughout the house including pre-scheduled lighting scenes inside and out. It can be a pain to setup and even more of a pain if something goes wrong but when it works it's great! For these smart bulbs I really don't think it could be easier. Initially you will need to plug the included hub into your network but once setup is complete you can use it in wired or wireless mode. Download the software from the appropriate "store", create your account and then follow the onscreen instructions. This is where it get easy; the bulbs in the pack are preprogrammed to the hub so all you have to do is screw them in, turn them on and from the app pick a name from the list or assign your own. If you are going to use them with Google Home or Alexa, assign them unique names that the voice command systems will understand. And yes you can name each bulb individually even if they are in the same room. From your device you have the ability to turn the lights on, off or dim individually or as a group. You can even set schedules for them to come on or go off at specific times. This was without a doubt the easiest home automation I have ever done!! Next time I may try the multicolored bulbs!

I hoped that this would work in my house, but it didn't, not in the room I wanted to use it and not even right next to the wifi router. The only way you will know for sure is if you try it in you home or office. Returned with no difficulty. The bulb works well without the wifi/sync.

I bought this thinking it would work. I was wrong it didn’t set up I had to call the manufacturer’s to help me set it up. Long story short I returned it and got the Phillips hue. And let’s say I should of done that the 1st time. Get the Phillips it’s more money but worth it

The Sengled Element Classic Smart LED bulbs are awesome. I love having control over my lights using just my voice, though I can also use the app to control the lights. I also love that you can set a schedule for the lights. This is an especially good feature if you are going to be out of town, as you can give the appearance of being home. If you have been considering getting some smart bulbs, these are quick and easy to setup and enjoy, even for the most novice of home automation users.

We were able to install and use these smart LED bulbs with hub right before our vacation. I set the times for them to come on at random times and they worked flawlessly. It was easy to set up once we got the hub to connect which wasn't so easy. I'm giving this set 4 stars for two reasons: 1. We had difficulty pairing the hub to our wifi. For whatever reason it refused to pair and gave us a message stating our password was incorrect when it wasn't. After several attempts, we then tried it hard wired to the Ethernet and it still gave us difficulty to set up. I finally downloaded the app on my phone instead of just my husbands and we tried again. This time it still gave us an error connecting to wifi but it connected right away to Ethernet. Im not sure what the issue was, but after that, it was smooth sailing. I was able to check the app to confirm that the lights were indeed on and giving our home the appearance that we never left. 2. Unfortunately, the box states that we can not use these on dimmer switches. Our entire house is on dimmer switches, except bathrooms, kids bedrooms (candelabra fans), playroom and office (aren't visible from front of house) and the outdoor lights (which are super bright and already on a timer switch). I bought a candelabra converter for the lights in the fans to use them in the kids room, but the housing space was too tight. All in all I had to bring a three light lamp(used 2) and single light lamp(used 1) out of retirement and used the bulbs in those, placed in separate rooms. The app is quick and very responsive. It gives you details like how much energy consumption was used all together or individually per light. Each light is customizable. So you are able to have one light dimmer than the other and each come on at separate times even if it's hooked up to one light source. We are happy with these lights and will buy a couple more for our less visible areas. Like our offices and play area.

This starter kit comes with the hub and three smart A19 light bulbs. A19 means they are white LED bulbs designed for long life and a good level of brightness. What I immediately noticed is how small the hub is. Very good if space is tight. The hub can be used on a wired internet connection to the back of a LAN port on your wireless router. Or it can be used on home Wi-Fi in wireless mode. Install the Android or iOS app, create an account, sign in and then follow the instructions on the app to set up the lightning. Make sure firmware is updated by studying the owner manual. And of course the app should be updated from time to time. If you really like this product, you can buy an Alexa or Google Assistant device so you don’t have to carry or be near your phone. These devices are available in many different form factors and can come integrated into a Bluetooth wireless speaker. Some devices are small enough to fit into a plastic housing frame that plugs into an electrical outlet. I have one light bulb for my bedroom so I don’t stub my toes on the bed frame when it’s dark. Have another light bulb in my living room near the center of my one bedroom condo floor plan. I might install the third light bulb inside the overhead light fixture above my kitchen sink. Not sure if this works well in an enclosed light fixture but willing to give it a try. Lightning can be set up to go on/off per a schedule on the app. Very good feature for folks who spend days away from home. Brightness level and warmth adjusting also available on the app. If you live in an area with blackouts, it might be a good idea to buy a backup battery supply. At any rate this type of automated lightning rocks and I recommend it to anyone who seeks this kind of modern convenience.

    Great Bulbs for the Price!

I was initially quite skeptical of theses bulbs and hub as the price was almost 1/2 that of similar products from other vendors. But I was pleasantly surprised by them! First, set up was incredibly easy. I was completely un-nerved initially as there was little more than a small booklet style instructions indicating the order of plugging the hub in and bulbs in. You will have to download the app in order to get everything set-up. The app itself is alright, fairly intuitive with a fairly streamlined, minimal flare to it. The three bulbs come pre-paired with the hub, further adding to the simplicity of initial set-up. Once every thing was synced, i disconnected the hub from my router and placed it where I wanted within my apartment in order to ensure reception with the bulbs. I would be concerned about utilizing this type of set-up in a large space as many other reviewers point out that the bulbs themselves do not act in a repeater fashion, relying the signal among the bulbs back to the base. Thus, range could be an issue for some. I used these bulbs to replace CFL bulbs in my living room and bedroom. I concerned as these are the classical designed bulbs with more warm tones and thus thought they might not be bright enough for the task of lighting a room in a floor lamp. I was quite wrong on this point and as these bulbs produce an abundant amount of light that is not too washed out in white like many LED bulbs. Moreover, these bulbs are easily controlled via Alexa and have dimming capabilities, something I could not do with my previous bulbs. In short, these bulbs are a great value for the options that they present; with easy set-up and use, providing an abundance of light.

I didn’t want a complicated smart whole home system. I just wanted lightbulbs that would dim and turn off or on from my phone. This system works perfectly with a pleasant tone of light emitted. I only installed the bulbs in three rooms, so I didn’t run into the issues that some have seen with not having enough areas in the app. I would recommend this simple little system for novices who just want smart lights!

    Easy Setup and Alexa Integration

I somewhat surprised at the ease of setup, and just how bright these lights are. I got the three pack, and installed them on my ceiling fan. The only issue, is the WiFi setup isn't very intuitive. The setup requires that you plug this in to your router, in order to get online. It then prompts you to enter your WiFi information, confirms the connection, and then you're good to go. The brightness of the bulbs is pretty amazing. One of them easily bests my Philips Hue at max brightness. As such, you'll need to get used to telling Alexa to lower to 1% light, but even then it's still a bit brighter than the Hue. The Alexa setup was pretty seamless; just open the Alexa App, add the Sengled Skill, then discover the devices. You can then use Alexa to manage the lighting, with almost no need to use the Sengled App. This is convenient, as it doesn't require me to use multiple apps to manage the basics of the bulb. However, the app gives you insights of power use of either an overall summary, or for each individual bulb. You can even schedule lighting events, to help deter someone from breaking in. You can also easily add more devices to your Sengled hub. Overall, for the price, ease of setup, and Alexa integration you'd be hard pressed to pass this one up. It's just a basic white bulb, so don't expect some "party mode" like the competitors. You'll enjoy a home lighting solution that solves the "pull chain" concept of your ceiling fan, and instead just use your voice or the app.

Extremely hard to set up. Get yourself a light that's plug and play, works with an app immediately. Yeah, they work when you plug them in, and they seem sturdy but otherwise a major PIA.
