Very good... a solid 4.5 for casual use.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If I didn’t care so much about sound quality I’d have white sticks poking out of my ears. (I haven’t tried the just released Airpods Pro yet, but I am planning to listen to them at an Apple store. I’ll update when I do.) I got these for sound quality first and foremost, and that’s mostly what I will talk about. I’ve been using the Sennheiser Momentum TW as my daily go to for two months now. Sort version: they will never beat a good wired set of IEM or over-ear cans, but as something I can carry around in my pocket they are great. They don’t _quite_ stand up to the sound quality of Sony’s WF-1000XM2, but are close enough when over-ear would be too hot (i.e. summertime), too big (these fit in a decent sized pocket), or just get uncomfortable after a long day at work. I give these a solid 4 out of 5 on overall sound quality. I found they were a little heavy on the bass side of things at their “flat” setting in the app, but was able to adjust the sound in the app to give them a better balance. (Much more in the tl;dr below.) I will say that the regular firmware updates have helped a lot with connecting, distance, and other BlueTooth woes. That’s the big reason I went with these over M&D… these have an app which is easy to use and gives firmware updates. I’d recommend them if you want sound quality and are able to pay the high sticker price. They are comfortable, have decent battery life, and have been worth the price in my mind. Overall, 4.5 out of 5 stars for the overall package. They could be a little better on sound (I’d give them a solid 4) but I will keep using these as my walk-around earphones. tl;dr I’ve been stubbornly sticking to wired headphones and carrying around a FIOS dongle for good sound. I eventually had to buy a good pair of noise cancelling headphones for work and the Sony’s were hands down the best in category. After getting used to their very good sound and not having dongles, I wanted to try a “true wireless” pair of earbuds, but was unwilling to compromise the awful sound with ease of use in the Apple AirPods. (It was also hot this summer and over the ears overheat me.) After lots of research I went with the Sennheisers. I will detail what I think about them, but first some quick bit about me and my preferences so you know where I stand. I don’t consider myself an “audiophile”, but I will allow that I am a total audio snob. At the moment I have lots of headphones in the under $1000 range. My favorites are my Klipsch X10i IEM, Sony WF-1000X2 for office/travel/noise cancelling, Sennheiser HD280 for podcast/audio production and my favorite “flat” cans. I have plenty more IEMs, over-ear, and on-ear than I will go into, but those are my favorites. Hopefully that gives you some idea what I like. Back to the Momentum TW buds. They are isolating In Ear Monitors (IEM). They need to fit properly to sound good. I like to tell people to fit them like you would earplugs. When you can’t hear anything around you and they are comfortable you usually have a good seal. Picking the right size tips is important. I love Klipsch oval tips, the Sennheiser TW tips are also good. This is one of those things where YMMV and you should try things out until you are happy with the sound and comfort. I used an iPhone 10 XS Max with a FiiO i1 dongle for wired sets. I used the same phone for the BlueTooth sets as well. I also used an iPad Pro (2017) without a dongle for some testing as well. I used these as my “comparisons”: Sennheiser HD 280 pro, Klipsch X11i, AudioTechnica ATH-M50x, and Sony WF-1000XM2. Besides the AudioTechnica cans, the Momentum TW did not beat any of the other earphones for sound. That said, they we very good. Rock: they handled rock with panache. I enjoyed Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, Oingo Boingo’s Insanity, and Tenacious D’s Tribute. Surfing With The Alien from Joe Satriani was not quite as good as cans with clearer highs. Not sure where Beastie Boys Sabotage goes genre-wise, but it sounded awesome. Indie Rock/Alternative: I am happy to say this genre was also handled very well. Blood And Chalk from EMA sounded particularly good. Strange Hellos and Skim from TORRES sounded wonderful. Garbage’s Blood For Poppies and Supervixen were a highlight of my first few days with these IEMs. They didn’t handle quiet, more acoustic songs as well. For example, Tori Amos singing Silent All These Years did not come through well. Metal: these IEMs are well suited for metal. Hard hitting drums and screaming guitars come through on Iron Maiden’s Wasted Years, Kittie’s Brackish, and pretty much anything from Korn benefited from clean handling of bass guitars, and I enjoyed listening to Shoots and Ladders and Freak on a Leash. Metallica’s Enter Sandman also sounded very good. The Gentle Art Of Making Enemies (Faith No More) sounded even better. Industrial: probably these IEM’s best showing. This is one of my favorite genres so this makes me happy. It handled a range from Nine Inch Nails: Gave Up, Copy Of A, the cover of Memorabilia, and Hurt- all sounded fantastic. I also enjoyed listening to songs like Rhythm of Time from Front 242 and KMFDM’s Glory. 16 Volt’s Suffering You is pounded out perfectly. Electronic: good but not great without noodling with the EQ. I had to turn down the low end and the increase the highs before things were to my liking. The more things bled into the Industrial, like VNV Nation’s Control, the better they sounded even with the EQ flat. From the same artist, songs like Ghost or Honor did not sound very good without the EQ changes. Moby’s Extreme Ways and Run On were much the same. Silence from Delirium also needed the EQ to sound good. Classical, Choral, and Jazz sounded better than I expected but nowhere near the sound quality from any of the corded headphones. Sony’s WF-1000XM2 really outshines them here. I could still enjoy Barber’s Adiagio For Strings and Martin O’ Donnell & Michael Salvatori’s Asphalt and Ablution after noodling with the EQ a lot, but I will never reach for these if I want to listen to classical. Hip-hop/rap: I don’t listen to this genre a lot and most of my taste leans toward older stuff. That said, Beastie Boys, Sir Mix A Lot, and LL Cool J sounded very good. PM Dawn and Saul Williams also sounded good. Being a little heavy on the bass end is well suited to this genre. Overall- Bass: a touch heavy and not as clear as X11i or as crisp as HD280 but very good. The equalizer in the app fixed this to my tastes. Mids: Warm, if a little quiet. The equalizer helps here too. Highs: Crisp, but hard to hear fine details in classical music. For pure sound quality they will never replace a good wired set, but for convenience and quality they are a great true wireless set that I would recommend if you can afford the premium. They even have a classy looking case.

Solid wireless ear buds
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sennheiser doesn’t disappoint on a great quality and a deep rich sound. The fit for a wireless is the best I’ve come across. Better than Bose, Jabra, or Jaybird. It’s such a surprisingly simple concept that works. Big range for Bluetooth and the voice quality for calls is superb. The cons. Battery life is slightly above 4 hours, which is enough for a workout, but not for a full day in the office. Personally, I cannot keep earbuds on for a full 8 hours in an office environment, but I’ve experienced a dead battery right as a I start my workouts. You can connect only one device at a time. I need it for workouts to connect to my phone and smart watch simultaneously. No dedicated on/off feature. You have to put it back in the charging case to shut it off. Which is annoying, but tolerable. I should’ve led with the fact that I am very picky with my buds. I’ve gone through over half a dozen earbuds and each one had a huge flaw(s) that couldn’t be overlooked. Sennheiser, although not perfect, the pros definitely outweigh the cons. Momentum hits on what I value on the most important qualities in earbuds. Sound, voice quality, water/sweat resistance and most importantly the fit. Nothing worse than your ears hurting or you buds falling out while you’re biking. I would definitely recommend this product.

Best sound, worst case!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off these definitely have the best sound I have experienced and I have tried all of the higher end buds. The only thing close is the master and dynamic mw07. The fit is comfortable and the battery life when in use is great. The soundstage is wide, bass is strong but not overpowering overall very crisp and detailed sound. Now, the case battery is where the problem is. For some reason the case battery drains when nothing is being used. If you don’t use the buds for a couple of days and the battery was full, there is a chance the case and possibly the buds will be dead when you reach for them next. It’s been a known issue with no fix so there may never be one. I chose to keep mine because the sound quality is worth it to me but it may be a deal breaker for others.

Great Design
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The earbuds are very comfortable for me to say the least, they sound better than my Bose Soundsports but aren't as loud. Transparent hearing does work although it doesnt seem useful for me. I still find myself taking out an earbud when someone speaks to me. The app required to tweak the EQ is what I do not like at all. Bluetooth connection to my S8 plus works just fine, but when you launch the app it never connects to the earbuds although they are connected to my phone. After a few attempts to "retry connection" via the app, a prompt comes up and asks you to turn on and off location services and it still doesnt work. I find that spamming the retry button eventually gets you connected. But, if you leave the app and come back to it, the connection is lost again. Its mildly annoying. One major issue that is bugging me is a crackling sound that I hear in my right earbud. It isn't a constant cracking but it only happens during certain times of a song, I guess at a certain frequency? I'm not sure but it's in everything I listen to. I'm disappointed, I really enjoy the design, comfort, and sound quality (minus the crackling). I'm considering a return and purchasing the M&D MW07s instead.

Best earbuds you can buy, period.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned all of the products Bose and Beats offer as competitors - wired and bluetooth. I've had different issues with all of them; some with fit, some with sound quality, etc. The best up until now was Bose's bluetooth buds. But this Sennheiser product is ABSOLUTELY the best in every way. The BEST FIT, the BEST APP, the BEST DESIGN/UX, and of course the most important factor the BEST SOUND. Fit and finish of the buds in your ear is top notch. They come with different size inserts like all buds do, but there's something to the weight distribution and shape of everything - they just seem to feel really snug in your ear. I haven't ran in them yet, but I'm certain they will not come lose - you can just tell. They feel WAY tighter and more secure than anything I've ever owned. The buds themselves look great. Even the case itself is well made and aesthetically pleasing. The ux design of the bud's controls are very well thought out. I love the touch feature instead of searching for small buttons to press and/or hold. I'm certain other companies will copy this approach if it isn't patented. I really hope it lasts functionally - only time will tell. Can't say enough about the sound quality. I play music on stage for very large churches and I have very high end custom in ear monitors. Unless you go out and buy a $1000+ pair of custom wired in ear monitors with multiple drivers and a sub, you are not going to find better sound quality out of a pair of universal ear buds. For the price, you can not go wrong with this purchase.

Really good for music but...
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really great overall sound and great for music. It goes deep in the ear and it hasn't fallen out yet during my workouts. Full bass along with great mid range and treble. You can max out the volume on your phone and continue to increase the volume even further from the earbuds. The app is easy to use - it has an option to turn on ambient listening. Unfortunately, you can only hear it turn on the left earbud and not the right. The equalizer is a nice touch though. BIG CON: The use of these for phone calls is terrible! You have to talk pretty loud in order for the person on the other line to hear you. If it's not that then it's the fact that you'll come across really choppy on the call. You're better off switching to talking directly on the phone and then switch back to listening to music. I'd still recommend this for a great workout companion but forget it if you plan on making calls with this too.

Best sounding Wireless Earbuds
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own airpods, and tested the jabra 65t and bose soundsport, but overall these work the best. The airpods are great overall and does everything well, but I wanted something that sounded better. First i tried Bose, and i loved them. the sound was perfect but it was a little big. But the main reason I returned it was because there was a horrible delay when watching youtube and was extremely annoying. otherwise, I loved it. then I tried Jabra 65t, also amazing but I ended up returning it too because it sounded flat compared to Bose. So I decided to go all-in and give the Momentum's a try, as it's touted the best sounding Wireless Earbuds. Using my iPhone x, it sounds amazing. no complaints there. No issues with connection, no video delay, it's light and comfortable and syncs immediately with my phone when I take it out of the case. It seems to stay in my ear pretty well and I don't think there will be a problem for lite workouts. also, I've had no complaints when using it for calls, but I don't use it often for calls either. The case is a decent size. Not as small as the airpods but small enough to carry everyday in my pocket. minor cons that haven't really affected my day to day experience are.. - shorter battery life compared to competitors - it doesn't easily switch to different devices like the airpods. for instance, you'll have to manually disconnect it on your ipad then reconnect it in iphone in your settings menu. But the sound quality is so good you'll foregive any short comings. If optimal sound is what your looking for, you won't be disappointed.

Great Sound
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to try out wireless earphones for my workouts and for hikes. I shopped MANY brands and ended up with these because they have the best reviews for sound quality, and that’s important to me. I have been using these about three months now and overall I am very happy with them. They fit very snugly and the noise-cancelling works great. I also like the “transparency” option which allows some outside sounds to come through without getting in the way of the great sound. I only gave it 4 stars because of the limited time you get per charge. The holder is supposed to charge the earbuds at least 3 times but I have found it it’s only good for 2, and the second charge is not a full charge. I now charge after each use, to be sure these work for the 2-3 hours I need them.

Premium Sound and Fantastic Design
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of the things the MOMENTUM line has been known for its quality products. That quality doesn’t just focus on the sound, it’s the overall design of the products in this line. The first thing you’ll notice with these earbuds is the polished metallic spin ring with the Sennheiser logo. The charging case is covered in a tough cloth that makes it feel premium. There are multiple different ear tips that come in four different sizes so you can find the right one that works for you. But most importantly, these earbuds are lightweight and slim, making them easier to use regularly. What you won’t see is the 4-hour battery life, the zero sacrifice mentality when it comes to sound and the Smart Control features that make these true wireless earbuds top contenders.

Great Sound at a premium
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am definitely a huge fan of premium headphones. I have 2 pairs of the Sony Noise cancelling 1000xm3s, a 7.1 surround sound setup, and several other headphones and quality speakers throughout my house. So sound is extremely important to me. I want to be able to hear what the artist intended and I want to be able to hear all of the subtle sounds with anything Im listening to or watching. I looked at all the true wireless earbuds and finally decided on these. The sound is clear and amazing. Is it as good as over the ear headphones, no but no earbud will ever be quite as good because they have to fit more tech into a smaller space and have limited battery life. But this are the best you will get out of the TWE collection. They are comfortable and don't move at all even while shaking your head back and forth so they are great for running and working out. They are splash resistant so you can't swim with them but sweat and rain shouldn't be too much of an issue. The best feature is the ambient mode which you use by double clicking on the right ear bud which basically use the microphone to pick up noise outside so its safe for you to run outside or if you need to hear someone. These are more expensive but they are worth it and if you want the best experience with TWE than this is best you're going to get right now.

Best True wireless headphone so far
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Tried also in comparison the Master and Dynamic 07(nice sound but no eq adjusting app and too low volume)the B&O E8 2.0 (Closest competition clear bass with interesting sound signature and separation in the highs and drum beats, sometime in highs on certain songs it has a very small distortion and can be a little sharp, also the app adjustments did not change sound much feels limited) the Sennheiser True wireless headphones feels louder with a nice soundstage strong clean natural bass with clear highs. The app is the best with a clever easy to adjust eq, eq settings saved to the EarPods, unlike the B&OE8 2.0s these really do adjust very well. Sound Quality and Powerful feel is over all the best in my opinion after extensive back and forth testing all the way until the batteries ran out on multiple occasions. Other headphones I have for reference Shure PTHE500 wired, Grado wired, Blue Mo-Fi, Isotunes Pro wireless (woodworking), Jaybird Tarha Pro (14 hour play time for extended listening)

Superb With One Consideration (Fit For Large Ears)
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I find reading these reviews very entertaining, let me explain. First - Audio quality, earbud comfort, and even the controls are very subjective and come down to personal preference. Using audio quality as an example, an individuals hearing would fall in somewhere between hearing loss/impairment up to an Audiophile, and many points in-between. I consider myself as a music aficionado, so my input/recommendations would probably be inaccurate for approx. 80% of the general public, and my opinions would be of very little value. That being said, when asked the question "Would you recommend this to a friend", I would say NO. However what I would say is determine the features and price point you are interested in and compare the like brands and try each one. As an example if one is willing to drop $300 on truly wireless earbuds, look at Sennheiser, Master & Dynamics, and Bang & Olufsen. Most retailers have excellent return policies (usually 14 days) meaning one can purchase a product, try it, if all of your expectations are not met, return it and go to the next one. This may involve some work and I suppose a little bit of a hassle for the retailer, but HEY, you're spending your hard earned money on something that should be exactly what you want. Based on my personal preferences I rate the Sennheiser Momentum Truly Wireless at 4 stars, due to some minor considerations, which I have contacted them and made them aware of, but quality, performance and features all met my expectations. Second - The reviews that are comprised of one or two sentences and only say the product is either junk, overrated, or could not be recommended need to be taken with a grain of salt. It's pretty evident these reviewers were only venting because they may have read product reviews, and put too much trust in what they read without basing it off of their own personal preferences and requirements. Getting back to the Sennheiser earbuds, it is important to NOTE that many of the early/original reviews mentioning battery case/life, connectivity, and pairing issues (possibly to early of firmware release) have been addressed and implemented in their firmware update 1.26 (kudos for that). I purchased my Momentum's on July 9, 2019, and the first order of business was to download the latest firmware update (1.26), took approximately 45 minutes, once completed the earbuds have worked flawlessly. In conclusion I will not state that these earbuds have too little/much bass, that the mid's/high's are washed out/bright, that the sound stage is compressed/immersive, that must be a conclusion that you reach based on hearing the product first hand. Sorry to be so straightforward, but then again that's reality!! Do your homework put in some quality time and you to will end up with a product that meets your personal tastes and preferences!!

A So-So True Wsireless Earbud
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In the days of "wired" headphones, Sennheiser's reputation was second to none. That unfortunately is no longer the case, at least when speaking of Bluetooth headsets, "true" or otherwise. I've bought at least four Sennheiser Bluetooth headsets, and the Momentum True Wireless is my least preferred. Preliminarily, I should note that there is a newer version of this True Wireless headset; namely the Momentum 2 True Wirless headset. I am reviewing here the version 1 iteration of the Momentum True Wireless headset. There is no questioning the clarity of Sennheiser headsets, and the Momentum is no exception. There is a good balance between the base and the treble, with both being sharp; i.e., not muddled. Sound production aside, the Momentum True wireless leaves a lot to be desired. First, it is bulky. Second, it basically lacks any controls of its own. One has to rely almost entirely on the mobile Phone to use it. The exception is that one can summon Siri from the headset. Siri then carries out the instructions. Third, the battery life is pathetic. Moreover, it appears unevenly distributed betgween among the pair. On two occasions, I found the left ear completely dead, while the right continued to function. Finally, and perhaps most significantly, it is overpriced. Apparently the list price is (or should I say was) $300, but I got it for $200. That makes sense since the new version also has a list price of $200. I think one can buy much better units from the likes of Amazon, Samsung, and Jabra and Jaybird for significantly less.

Amazing Sound Quality- True to Sennheiser's name!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, the Sennheiser earbuds exceed my expectations. They provide excellent audio performance with amazing clarity. Normally, I hate wearing earbuds as they bother my ears and the sound quality isn’t worth it. Sennheiser True Wireless Earbuds feel good in my ears, sound amazing and even let me hear what’s going on around me with the transparent hearing technology. I like the touch controls, although it does take some practice to use them. I was constantly changing the volume by accident at first, but like anything new, there’s a learning curve!

good audio quality, hard to control
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these to use with my ipad for zoom meeting. The sound is terrific for both, listening and microphone. I had trouble connecting the headset to both my pixel 4 phone and my Ipad. After several rounds I finally managed to pair the Momentum. One problem I had during a zoom meeting was that by accidentally touching the left ear it went on mute and could not come off it. I bought it on sale and think at $180 is a reasonable value.

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As always, Sennheiser did not dissapoint! Great full sound with nice bass to give sound a boost. However the fact that they are larger than I would like and the charging case does not hold a charge for an extended amount of time are not appealing events. BUT, if they were a little smaller and the charging aspect were corrected, then these would be 5-star earbuds

The sound it’s amassing, but weak features.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound it’s really amassing in this buds, but it lacks of the flexibility offer by other brands. They usually stay on which drains battery during storage. Bedside the lack of flexibility and features, indeed great frequency response, deep bases and clear sound. Those offer a great sound quality in comparison with other brand, so it’s quality vs features. I stick with quality and sound. Maybe in the future a update improve the other areas.

||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got these in July, been using them off and on again since then. I love the sound and the earbud fits comfortably. Only downside I think is the app and not being able to change any of the touch functions.
