I tried these because I wanted headphones with aptX Low Latency. Went back to the Sony WH-1000XM4s for two reasons. The Sennheisers produce a very quiet strange sound sometimes when there's nothing playing on them or you're listening at low volume. Also they sounded very flat to me. Just not a lot going on dynamically. Although Sony is pushing LDAC which I do not care about, I think their headphones are just much more pleasant.

Really surprised these didn't turn out as well as I expected. Sound is great. ANC sucks. Bluetooth connection is not stable regardless of what device I pair it to.

The Sennheiser Momentum Wireless headphones are near the top of the class at the price point. The noise-cancelling works very well, and the sound quality is top notch. The design looks pretty good, with a caveat, and the features that Sennheiser incorporated into these headphones are mainly good. I would compare these to Bose wireless noise-cancelling headphones, which puts these headphones in great company. The noise-cancelling ability for this unit does a nice job. I didn't hear the traffic outside my window, including very loud trucks, and I didn't even hear my phone ringing. I thought that the technology excels at never letting the noise-cancelling, whether off or on, affect the quality of the music being played. This isn't always the case with other brands. I wouldn't say that this is the best noise-cancelling unit out there, but it gets the job done very well. I would say much the same for the richness and quality of the sound this unit produces. With music, everything sounds great, from high tones to low bass. The effect that the headphones produce are a little different than other wireless headphones that I phone, but not in a bad way at all. The best way to explain it is that it is like listening to audio out of great speakers that are in the back of your car. I did use this unit with a PC for gaming, and I also used them with my phone for calls. Both sounded very nice. Again, I would not say that they are the best, but they are very nice. Speaking of using these on several devices, I was able to pair these headphones with multiple devices allowing me to quickly move from one to another without needing to set anything up. That is so fantastic. The design is what you would expect for the price point. The head band is very soft and comfortable, even after hours of use. The ear cans also have soft leather which felt very nice on my ears. The headphones have a nice heft to them, and seem very durable. They do fold much smaller inside a nice case, but their folded profile is bigger than headphones that fold up completely. So if packing a suitcase, these will be slightly larger and perhaps more apt to weight damage. I gave them a good squeeze in the folded position, though, and they seemed strong enough to me. There is a wire that is very visible leading from the band down to the cups. Not a big deal, but if you like a clean or hidden wire aesthetic, this could be annoying when viewing them from the front viewing angle only. They never caught on anything, and I wear my cans almost fully extended from the band so much of the slack was gone. I never noticed it until I caught my reflection in a window. However, I did enjoy the 'retro' look overall. Regarding design, I have high praise for Sennheiser for going with actual push buttons for volume, etc., instead of touch pads. This is a personal call, because I know several friends who hate push buttons, I preferred the tactile feel of pushing the buttons. There is a Smart Pause feature that acted well most of the time. It pauses the music when it senses that the headphones aren't on your ear. It is an interesting feature that I think will become more commonplace and standard, but for now works most of the time. It can be shut off. There is an app that connects to the headphones that will help you control many features. If you like to adjust the equalizer, this is how you do it. Just be aware that the equalizer is a wave-style so that you can't adjust individual ranges. Not a big deal for me. My headphones lasted about 15 hours on a charge, which worked well. The bluetooth range is good, but not great. Too far away from the phone or computer, and the sounds starts to cut off. This is to be expected with all wireless headphones, and the range seemed average. Overall, I really liked the Sennheiser Momentum Wireless headphones. They fit into the price range as far as sound quality, build quality, and features. Many of the small things that I found fault with were personal choices for me compared to other headphones I own. I could see others finding no fault at all. I would recommend these for music, gaming, calls, for all activities except rigorous exercise.

To start this review off, I will say that they sound fantastic! Trebles and mids sound very neutral and very clear. Bass is powerful--both thumpy and punchy, and adds a lot of fun to music. It doesn't leak into the mids or highs meaning the details of the music isn't lost. Judging soundstage, these sound relatively spacious when compared to other ANC headphones. It sounds like the music is around you but in a small, cramped room, as opposed to some other ANC headphones seemingly injecting music straight into your ear. Not an open-back experience, but good for what they are. They sound better than the muddy WH-1000XM3s, neutral-but-unexciting QC 35-IIs, as well as the boring NC 700s (Bose models don't even support AptX!). ANC isn't the best, but still strong. It does less well against "sudden" noises, such as people talking or something falling, but it is good enough in that respect, and it is very strong against constant noises such as road noise or AC noises. The build quality is fantastic! Sheep skin leather padding, stainless steel legs, and durable plastic on the earcups make for a sturdy and attractive set of headphones. Because of how they are built are also heavy, so keep that in mind. They are comfortable; the clamping force on them isn't too extreme and the padding is nice, but they don't feel as comfortable as the QC 35-IIs or WH-1000XM3s. Battery life (~17 hours) is a little disappointing, but is certainly manageable. Controls are pretty straightforward, and one shouldn't have problems figuring them out. Overall, very nice pair of ANC headphones for those looking for good sound.

Sound is great when using wirelessly. However, when using these headphones with the cable, the right headphone does not work. I followed the instructions for attaching the cable and it does not work. Disappointed in this item and regret not testing these before the return window closed. boo...
